Good Food Festival & Localicious

The Good Food Festival runs March 14-16 at the UIC Forum, 725 W. Roosevelt Rd. Today's programming begins at 9am and includes panels on food policy and school food, as well as an industry trade show. Then in the evening, from 7 to 9:30pm, Localicious brings together restaurateurs and suppliers for a celebration of locally sourced food and drink.

Registration for today's trade show and panels is $40 in advance, $50 at the door. Tickets for Localicious are $75 in advance, $90 at the door; get a combination pass for all of today's events for $100 in advance or $130 at the door.

Hair Lit, Vol. 1 @ Quimby's

Tonight, Quimby's (1854 W. North Ave.) hosts readings from Hair Lit, Vol. 1. Edited by Nick Ostdick and released by local indie publisher Orange Alert Press, it's a tribute to the rockers and power balladeers of '80s and '90s metal bands. Contributors Matt Rowan, Lindsay Hunter, and Mike Joyce read their contributions, tales of sex and drugs and how Tommy used to work on the docks. Reading starts at at 7pm.

Helen Money, Doug McCombs @ Township

Innovative and mesmerizing rock cellist Helen Money brings her unique musical stylings to Township, 2200 N. California Ave., tonight. Doug McCombs (of Tortoise fame) opens, playing material from Brokeback. Tickets are $8. 21+ (773) 384-1865.

Django Django @ Metro SOLD OUT

Eddie Pepitone @ Music Box

The Music Box Theatre presents a special screening of the documentary film The Bitter Buddha, with the documentary's subject, comedian Eddie Pepitone, in attendance with the film's director Steven Feinartz.
