Randolph Street Market

The Randolph Street Market runs today and Sunday from 10am to 5pm in Plumbers Hall, 1340 W. Washington St. Browse dozens of vendors selling antiques, jewelry and vintage clothing. There's also a gourmet food court and a vinyl music market. Admission is $8 in advance ($3 for students) or $10 ($5 for students) at the door. Children under 12 free.

Working with an Architect at Rebuilding Exchange

AIA Chicago's "Working with an Architect" session at Rebuilding Exchange, 1740 W. Webster Ave., brings together residential architecture specialists and the general public to the talk about choosing an architect, navigating zoning and permit regulations, and avoiding costly surprises. Following the session, attendees will have an opportunity to participate in a 15‐minute one‐on‐one consultation with an architect. Homeowners are encouraged to bring along photos, plans or drawings of their homes. The sessions run from 10:30am to 12:30pm today. Register via email at workshops@rebuildingexchange.org.

Empty Bottle Farmers Market

The Empty Bottle, 1035 N. Western Ave., hosts a farmers market today from noon to 5pm. Shop more than a dozen local vendors of fresh produce and other goods. Free.

Beauty Bar's 3rd Birthday

Beauty Bar, 1444 W. Chicago Ave., celebrates its third birthday with The Prince and Michael Experience, a Price and Michael Jackson tribute show, from 8pm to 3am. $5 cover. Tonight, Tamale Hut Cafe Reading Series (8300 W. Cermak Road, North Riverside) welcomes Sara Ross Witt. Former co-producer and co-host of the Tuesday Funk reading series, Sara is a blogger, technical writer, New School MFA and short story author. BYOB; open mic to follow. 7pm.

Brain Frame Comics Reading

The 11th installment of Brain Frame, a "peformative" comics reading, happens tonight at Heavy Gel, 2335 W. Lake St., starting at 8pm. The lineup includes the talent of Bill Cleveland, Krystal DiFronzo, Ian Endsley, Marieke McClendon, Otto Splotch and Jim Trainor. Live musical accompaniment will be provided by by Tyson Torstenson. Cover is $7.

Tim Kasher @ Schubas

Cursive front-man Tim Kasher plays at Schubas, 3159 N. Southport Ave, tonight at 10pm. Kasher is touring in support of his debut solo album, The Game of Monogamy. Tickets are $15. 21+. UPDATE: Sold out!
