The Randolph Street Market runs Saturday and today from 10am to 5pm in Plumbers Hall, 1340 W. Washington St. Browse dozens of vendors selling antiques, jewelry and vintage clothing. There's also a gourmet food court and a vinyl music market. Admission is $8 in advance ($3 for students) or $10 ($5 for students) at the door. Children under 12 free.
This afternoon at 3pm, the Poetry Foundation (61 W. Superior St.) presents Poetry As Comedy. This being the Poetry Foundation, don't expect to hear drunkards sharing limericks scribbled on the el that day, but the classics. Under the direction of Second City founder Bernard Sahlins, a trio of actors will bring to life bring the works of W. H. Auden, John Updike and Dorothy Parker, among others. Free.
saki, 3716 W. Fullerton Ave., launches its first Saki University "skill share workshop" series today at 3:30pm. Gaslight Coffee Roasters staff will demo brewing setups and offer tips on brewing and tasting from 3:30 to 5pm, then Froilan Landeros of The Recyclery Collective will give a bicycle 101 tutorial from 5 to 7pm. The Psychotronic Film Society presents Zombiethon at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., tonight, featuring a screening of the samurai-zombie film Versus, a zombie costume contest and more. Tickets are $10, doors open at 7pm. 18+
The English Beat's Saturday night show at SPACE, 1245 Chicago Ave. in Evanston, is sold out, but they also perform tonight and tickets are still available. They'll set you back $38, or $68 for reserved table seating. Doors open at 8pm.
