Hitchcock, Psycho double feature @ Film Center

The Gene Siskel Film Center, 164 N. State St., presents week-long runs of the 2012 film Hitchcock and the classic 1960 film Psycho. The films will often be screening back-to-back throughout the week, and you may purchase discount tickets for both films. 100 Acts of Sewing @ Lillstreet

Fiber artist Sonya Philip celebrates the opening of her show 100 Acts of Sewing at Lillstreet Art Center, 4401 N. Ravenswood, with a reception from 6 to 8pm tonight. One hundred dresses made by Philip over the course of a year will be displayed throughout the building. Free.

Frank Fairfield @ Schubas

Frank Fairfield plays old-time music on his banjo, fiddle, and guitar--and mostly by himself. Over two albums, Fairfield has mixed original material with stunning versions of old American country and old-time standards. It's sometimes hard to even tell the difference. Check him out tonight at Schubas, along with opener Andrew Pelletier. The show is 21+ and begins at 7pm. Schubas is located at 3159 N. Southport Ave.

Hatch Show Print @ Firecat Projects

Legendary concert poster printers Hatch Show Print celebrate the opening of an exhibition of prints at Firecat Projects, 2124 N. Damen Ave., with a reception tonight from 7 to 10pm. Sponsor the Metro will be selling 10 limited edition iconic Metro posters from the archives of the club-s 30-year history at the reception.

The Shit Show @ The Shambles

The Shit Show is a free comedy show at 8pm on the last Friday of every month at The Shambles (2050 W Division). The show is hosted by Ever Mainard and Rasa Gierstikas and sponsored by Fireball Whiskey and Mingle Around. Audience members get to take part in free shots and calling out "best joke" for their favorite comic. Tonight's lineup includes Caitlin Bergh, Adam Burke, Sonia Denis, Megan Gailey, Goodrich Gevaart, Janna Sobel and Emily Walker.

KTF Dance Crash @ Mayne Stage

Chicago Dance Crash brings its "Keeper of the Floor" dance competition back to Mayne Stage, 1328 W. Morse Ave. The theme for this round is "Welcome to OZ." Tickets are $15 online or at the box office. Doors open at 8pm, show starts at 9:30pm.

Vanishing Waves @ The Patio

The Chicago Cinema Society presents the Chicago premiere of Vanishing Waves, directed by Kristina Buozyte, tonight at the Patio Theater, 6008 W. Irving Park Rd., at 10pm. Tickets are $7. An encore screening takes place Monday, April 1, at 7:30pm.
