Before Wednesday's McDonald's All-American games at the United Center, come watch the nation's best boys and girls compete in three-point and dunk contests at the Gerald Ratner Athletics Center, 5530 South Ellis Ave. The dunk contest will be broadcast live on ESPNU. Tickets are $15.
The Dinner Party, a talk show conducted over a chef-prepared dinner, returns to City Winery, 1200 W. Randolph St., tonight. This month host Elysabeth Alfano talks with Poi Dog Pondering's Frank Orrall, Field Museum Artist in Residence Peggy MacNamara, Vocalo's Brian Babylon. Chef John Manion of La Sirena Clandestina cooks, and the opening act is dancer Ted Seymour. Doors open at 6:30, show begins at 7pm. Tickets are $35 in advance only.
The Chicago Cinema Society presents the Chicago premiere of Vanishing Waves, directed by Kristina Buozyte, tonight at the Patio Theater, 6008 W. Irving Park Rd., at 7:30pm. Tickets are $7.
The Chicago Improv Festival runs April 1-7 at a variety of venues throughout the city. Tonight's opening night show at the Annoyance Theatre & Bar, 4830 N.
