Tuesday Funk @ Hopleaf

Tuesday Funk returns to the upstairs lounge at Hopleaf Bar, 5148 N. Clark St., tonight. For its 56th episode, the eclectic monthly reading series showcases new novels by Mary Robinette Kowal (Without a Summer), Wesley Chu (The Lives of Tao), and co-founder Reinhardt Suarez (The Green Ray of the Sun), along with featured readers Jeremy Jasper and Regan Keeter. New co-host Andrew Huff of Gapers Block makes his debut, joining William Shunn at the podium. Doors open at 7pm, readings start at 7:30pm. Free, 21+.

2nd Story Book Release @ Revolution Brewing

the 2nd Story members read from their first anthology, Briefly Knocked Unconscious by a Low-Flying Duck at Revolution Brewing, 2323 N. Milwaukee Ave., tonight at 7pm, sponsored by City Lit Books. Anthology contributors Bobby Biedrzycki (who is also the director of 2nd Story), Lott Hill, and Earliana McLaurin will read at 7pm but the drinks go until closing. The reading is free, but you can pick up a copy of the book if you like what you hear. 21+

Sweethearts Comedy Duo @ Upstairs Gallery

Newly-Minted Comedy Duo Sweethearts kicks off a five-week sketch series tonight at Upstairs Gallery (5219 N. Clark St.) at 8 pm. Each week the pair will perform a brand new set of sketches, with each show based around a different theme. This week, comedians Adam Schreck and Ben Ryan debut the series with sketches fittingly based around the theme of "Hello". BYOB, free.

Pink Floyd The Wall @ The Logan

Do312 presents a free screening of Pink Floyd's legendary rock opera film, The Wall, tonight at the Logan Theater, 2646 N. Milwaukee Ave. Doors open at 10pm, film screens at 11pm. Red Bull supplies complimentary Red Bull and vodkas, and free apps will be served in the lounge. Free with RSVP, but subject to capacity limits -- get in line early, in other words.
