Girl Food Dinner @ West Town Tavern
The name is pandering but the cause is good; women chefs from all over the city unite for an evening of lady-made food and drink in the name of benefiting the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Event begins at 5:30pm at West Town Tavern, 1329 W. Chicago; your $150 ticket gets you a five-course meal prepared by Susan Goss of West Town Tavern, Nicole Pederson of Found Kitchen, Laura Piper of Trattoria 10, and Jessica Oloroso of Black Dog Gelato.
Chicago Latino Film Festival
The 29th annual Chicago Latino Film Festival, organized by the International Latino Cultural Center, runs April 11-25 at the AMC Loews Theatres 600, 600 N. Michigan Ave. Today's screenings begin at 5:45pm; see the schedule for full details. Tickets to each film are $11.
City Streets @ Portage Theater
The Northwest Chicago Film Society presents a 35mm screening of the 1931 film City Streets at the Portage Theater, 4050 N. Milwaukee Ave., at 7:30pm tonight, preceded by the cartoon Bugs Bunny Rides Again. Tickets are $5.
