Democracy Burlesque's Schlock & Awe! @ Mary's Attic
Chicago's only political sketch comedy group, Democracy Burlesque, is back with an all new show aptly titled SCHLOCK & AWE! It's an uncultured look at pop culture where the group lampoons society's modern love of Game of Thrones, NPR, and Justin Bieber. The show runs on Tuesdays from now until July 30th at Mary's Attic (5400 N. Clark). Tickets vary from $12-$15 and can be purchased online or at the door. Doors open at 7:00, show at 7:30.
The Moth StorySLAM @ Martyrs
Martyrs hosts the monthly StorySLAM from The Moth. Ten audience volunteers are randomly selected to tell a five-minute story on the evening's theme, and a panel of judges decides the winner, who will go on to the Grandslam Championships.
