Windy City Times hosts the Windy City Gay Idol finals at Mayne Stage, 1328 W. Morse Ave., tonight at 7pm; doors open at 6. In addition to the finalists, there will be guest performances by Tony Award-winner Levi Kreis from Million Dollar Quartet, "The Voice" contestant De'Borah and "American Idol" contestant Josh "JDA" Davilla. Amy Matheny and Sofia Saffire emcee. Tickets are $13, or $23 for guaranteed VIP seating. 21+
The 2nd Story reading series celebrates Pride Month with a special Pride show tonight at the Strawdog Theatre, 3829 N. Broadway. Storytellers include Deb Lewis, Dion Walton and Ozzie Totten, and a dance party follows the show. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Doors open at 7pm, show starts at 7:30pm.
The Northwest Chicago Film Society screens 1934's Heat Lightning tonight at 8pm at the Patio Theater, 6008 W. Irving Park Rd. Margaret Talbot will introduce the movie and sign copies of The Entertainer: Movies, Magic, and My Father’s Twentieth Century, a biography of Lyle Talbot, her father, who stars in the film. Tickets are $5.
Philadelphia's Bleeding Rainbow bring their fuzzed out garage rock to the Empty Bottle once again for a show with Fat Creeps and Verma. The show's $7, 21+ and starts at 9:00 PM. The Empty Bottle's at 1035 N Western.
