Chicago Botanical Artists
Chicago Botanical Artists, sponsored by Chicago Academy of Sciences/Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, is open to all artists, beginners or advanced, who want to sketch together, share works in progress, and develop a supportive community of fellow artists. The group meets from 3-5 pm at 2430 N. Cannon Dr. to sketch native plants in and around the Nature Museum's gardens, working outdoors when weather permits, or indoors with specimens. The Moth @ Haymarket
It's the second Monday of the month, time for the Moth at Haymarket (737 W. Randolph), for another open mic storytelling contest, this time on the theme of "Only in Chicago." Come with your best 5 minute story (memorized, no pages allowed onstage) and put your name in for the chance to tell a story. Who knows, you could be the next Moth StorySLAM winner. Hosted by Don Hall. Tickets ate $8 at the door, $16 online. Doors open at 5pm, stories start at 8pm.
