Comedian and podcaster Marc Maron does a four-night stand at Mayne Stage, 1328 W. Morse Ave., Aug. 1-4, with Adam Burke opening. Tonight's show is at 8pm; doors open at 6:30pm. Tickets are $30. 18+
Boom Troupe and Black Fox Theatre present theBlack & Boom Ultimate Rock-Paper-Scissors Smackdown at Haymarket Pub & Brewery, 737 W. Randolph St., tonight at 7pm. It's $10 to enter the competition, and also $10 for a wristband for the "keg party" happening simultaneously. Proceeds benefit both theater troupes. 21+

The Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia Ave., hosts a benefit for Iraq Veterans Against the War, featuring "an evening of music, poetry, improvised skits, stories, and performances that dive into the past and future of creative resistance to militarism." Marvin Tate's D-Settlement performs, and there'll be a screening of the film Four Days in Chicago, readings and art by Warrior Writers, and music by DJ Naomi Walker.
