Public meetings are being held as part of a study to improve Lake Shore Drive between Hollywood Avenue and Grand Avenue. Anyone who uses the stretch of Lake Shore Drive focused on in the study is encouraged to attend this meeting at Truman College, 1145 W. Wilson Avenue, atrium at 6-8 p.m.. Attendees are encouraged to bring feedback on how they use Lake Shore Drive, the Lakefront Trail or the parks and what they'd like to see.
All the cool kids will be at the Hideout (1354 W. Wabansia) tonight for Veggie Bingo, a summerlong series brought to you by the good folks at Soup and Bread and NeighborSpace. Play the game, enjoy a grilled hot dog donated by Hot Doug's, donate money to help sustain a local community garden, and win food-related prizes (fresh produce from Irv and Shelly's, among others). Event runs 5:30-8pm.
Sample some of Andersonville's finest eats at the Taste of Andersonville Dinner Crawl, which kicks off tonight at 6pm at the Swedish American History Museum, 5211 N. Clar. Choose the Salt, Pepper, or both (aka the Whole Enchilada) routes, which will take you to places like m. henry, Lady Gregory's, Svea, and Hamburger Mary's. Tickets $25-45.
There are no teachers and no pretensions at this bi-monthly get together devoted to drawing practices and having a good time. This month's design theme is comics. Theme beverage is vodka BYO mixer. Bring your sketchbook, drawing utensils, and favorite mixer. Comic books and vodka will be provided. Drink & Draw goes from 7-9:30pm at The Annex at Spudnik Press (1821 W. Hubbard, Suite 303). $5 suggested donation.
