A (Mostly) Veggie Affair Fundraiser

Green City Market Junior Board hosts the fundraiser "A (Mostly) Veggie Affair: Cheat on Meat or Go Whole Beast!" with proceeds going to their LINK Card matching program. Mixologists from The Aviary, Big Star, Scofflaw, and Embeya will craft drinks while a gang of chefs including Zoe Schor (Ada Street) and Eric Mansavage (Farmhouse) prepare veggie dishes and Paul Virant (Perennial Virant) and Bill Kim (bellyQ) cook up whole animals. All this set to the tunes of local synth-pop band Hey Champ. The event starts at 7 p.m. at The 1st Ward (2033 W North Ave). Tickets are $45.

Nick Offerman @ The Chicago Theatre

Live Nation presents comedian Nick Offerman at The Chicago Theatre (175 N. State St.) for a "Homecoming Show" on his American Ham Tour. Offerman, who is best known for his role as Ron Swanson on NBC's Emmy-nominated show Parks & Recreation, got his start in the Chicago theatre community, where he was a founding member of Defiant Theatre and worked at Steppenwolf, The Goodman, Wisdom Bridge, and Pegasus Players, among many others. Tickets are $35 and the show starts at 8 pm.

Story Club @ Holiday Club

Come see Story Club tonight at the Holiday Club, 4000 N Sheridan Ave. The theme this month is "Spooky" and features readings from "You're Being Ridiculous" producer Jeremy Owens, performer and dating superstar Ruth McCormack and Actor Maura Clement. Open mic slots are also available for storytelling hopefuls. Open mic signup starts at 7:30, show beings at 8pm.

Ólafur Arnalds @ Constellation

Icelandic composer and ambient producer, Ólafur Arnalds, performs two shows tonight at Constellation (311 N. Western) in support of his recently released album, For Now I Am Winter. Check out the haunting video for his new single "This Place Was a Shelter." Danish pianist, Lisa Alma, opens for both sets. These are both 21+ shows. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased here (6pm) and here (9pm).
