Earl Sweatshirt performs at Metro, 3730 N. Clark St., on Tuesday, October 15th. In the nearly two years since his biblical return from a stint in a Samoan school for at-risk boys, the youngest member of Odd Future has cultivated a name for himself as a solo rapper by releasing his first proper studio album, Doris, earlier this year, which features guest spots from his OFWKTA buddies Tyler, the Creator and Frank Ocean. Here's hoping for some surprise guest appearances. The all-ages show starts at 7pm (doors open at 6) and tickets are $21.
The Hideout presents the monthly meeting of Write Club, the literary boxing match that pits Chicago authors and actors against each other in matches for charity. Write club starts at 7:00pm. Come see Story Club tonight at the Co-Prosperity Sphere (3219 S Morgan St) The theme this month is "Are We Uncomfortable Yet?" and features readings from actor and solo performer Jane deLaubenfels, Writer and Host of The Encyclopedia Show Patrick Allen Carberry and Storyteller Extraordinaire Lara Levitan. Open mic slots are also available for storytelling hopefuls. Open mic signup starts at 7:30, show beings at 8pm. Entrance is free and a suggested $5 donation is greatly appreciated
