Quimby's hosts a book release party for Whiskey Women: The Untold Story of How Women Saved Bourbon, Scotch, and Irish Whiskey by Fred Minnick tonight from 6 to 8pm at the Hungry Brain, 2319 W. Belmont Ave. The event will feature a panel discussion about women in the whiskey business with Monique Huston, whisky specialist at Stoller Wine & Spirits; Karen Sisulak Binder of Southern Sisters Spirits, Meg Bell, brand ambassador for Death's Door Spirits; and distiller Sonat Hart of Koval Distillery. Two-time James Beard Award-winning authors Andrew Dornenburg and Karen Page will sign copies of their celebrated books, "The Flavor Bible" and "What to Drink with What You Eat," at The Spice House (1512 North Wells) in Chicago from 6:00 to 7:00. The evening is a celebration of the five-year anniversary of "The Flavor Bible" (Fall 2008), which was named by Forbes as one of the 10 best cookbooks in the world of the past century.
