Restaurants all over the city will donate a portion of today's sales to help EdgeAlliance, a West-side organization that provides housing and support for people living with HIV/AIDS during the annual Dining Out for Life event.
Tonight from 6:00p.m.-9:00p.m., The Dawson (730 W Grand) hosts a beer dinner featuring Brooklyn's Evil Twin Brewery. Five food stations (including a cheese table, carving station, and raw bar) designed to be paired with one of six of their brews is setup on the restaurant's second floor. Evil Twin brewer Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergso is also on hand to chat. Tickets are $60 per person (tax and gratuity included).
Starting at 6:00 p.m., the multi-course dinner at Schubas' Harmony Grill features pairings of different whiskies or scotch, such as Bushmills Irish Whiskey, Crown Royal Canadian Whiskey, and Bulleit. Diageo Master of Whisky Kyle McHugh will host and bartend. Tickets are $60.
LP Marketplace a soon-to-launch "eBay for vinyl," hosts a record swap party tonight from 6 to 10pm at Holiday Jones, 1659 W. Division St. Buy and swap new and used vinyl, enjoy complementary drinks and sing up for the site's beta release. $5 suggested donation.
South Side Projections presents Bring the Ruckus: Red Grooms on Celluloid, a collection of experimental films from the 1960s, tonight at Co-Prosperity Sphere, 3219-21 S. Morgan St. Doors open at 7pm, screening begins at 7:30pm. $5 suggested donation.
Artifice Books celebrates the release of Wolf Doctors by Russ Woods this Thursday at 8pm at Innertown Pub, 1935 W. Thomas St. Readings and performances by Woods, Jeannette Gomes, Matt Rowan, Holly Amos, and Everything's Alright. The event is free, and work by all contributors will be available for sale. 21+.
