The 14th annual Version Festival runs June 21-29 with the theme "the Placemakers." Today from 1pm to 4pm, go on a special tour of The 606, aka the Bloomingdale Trail. $20 advance tickets required.
Come to the West Loop for a Food Truck Rally for Foundations of Music (formerly Rock for Kids) tonight! Featuring food from THE SALSA TRUCK, Yum Dum Truck, and Doughnut Vault, the event runs from 5:30pm-8pm at The Garage (116 N Aberdeen St) and supports music education programs for at-risk youth in the Chicago Public Schools. The Whistler, 2421 N. Milwaukee Ave., hosts its version of a book club tonight starting at 6pm. Each month, the bartenders select a cocktail book and serve up their favorite drinks from it; this month it's New York Times cocktail writer Robert Simonson's new book, The Old-Fashioned. Bartenders from the Whistler and other bars will DJ in shifts throughout the night. No cover, 21+.
For the June session of the La Granja Urbana, Chef Diana Davila will showcase modern Mexican fare from the menu of her upcoming farm-to-table restaurant Cantina De La Granja. Dinner on June 25th begins at 7 p.m. at Bulthaup Studios (315 W Superior). Tickets are $100. All proceeds benefit Common Threads.

Gasnier, 1926), The Life of George Washington (1909), The Crazy Villa (1913), The Gypsy's Revenge (1908) and more. Free, but donations appreciated.
