Expo Chicago

The third annual Expo Chicago art exhibition brings over 140 international galleries to Navy Pier Sept. 19-21. View and purchase artwork from around the world, attend panel discussions, and check out other programs. Tickets are $20, or $30 for a thee-day pass. The festival runs 11am to 7pm today.

Food Network in Concert @ Ravinia

Ravinia (418 Sheridan Rd, Highland Park; or a quick Metra ride on the UP-North line to Ravinia Park) turns into an all-day, food-lover's paradise, with demos and tastings from a range of Food Network celebs (Anne Burrell of Worst Cooks in America, Jose Garces of Iron Chef) and local talent, among them Jimmy Bannos, Jr. (Purple Pig), Andrew Zimmerman and Cindy Schuman (Sepia), and Andrew Zimmerman and Cindy Schuman (Sepia). Event begins at 11am and culminates with John Mayer performing at 8:30pm. Ticket packages start at $99; the event benefits Share Our Strength's "No Kid Hungry" campaign to end childhood hunger in America.

Marlene Dietrich's Morocco @ Music Box

Marlene Dietrich's first US film, Morocco from 1930, screens this weekend at the Music Box Theatre as part of their weekend matinee series. Showtimes are Saturday and Sunday at 11:30am. Music Box: 3733 North Southport. (773) 871-6604.

Chicago South Asian Film Festival

The Chicago South Asian Film Festival runs Sept. 18-21 at the the Showplace ICON Theatres, 150 W. Roosevelt Rd., as well as at the Evanston Public Library, 1703 N. Orrington Ave. Today's screenings at the Showplace ICON include Kaphal (Wild Berries) at 11:30am, shorts session I at 1pm, Algorithms at 2:30pm, Fandry at 4:30pm, Brahmin Bulls at 6:30pm, and Monsoon Shootout at 8:30pm, followed by a Q&A with actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui. In Evanston, Are You Listening! (Shunti Ki Pao!) screens at 2pm and Munnariyippu (The Deadline) is at 6pm. Tickets are $15 for individual films, except for Monsoon Shootout, which is $20; the Evanston screenings are free. Day passes are available for $35, and festival passes are available for $125.

Prak-sis N3w M3dia Festival

The Prak-sis N3w M3dia Festival, a conference about artistic responses to the legacy of Cold War-era social upheaval in southeast Asia, runs Sept. 19-21 at the Drake Hotel, 140 E. Walton St. Today's program includes film screenings and discussions, beginning with the experimental documentary Ruhl by filmmaker James Benning at noon, Golden Slumber by Davy Chou at 2pm, and a lecture and round table discussion from 4 to 6pm. $5 suggested donation. City Made Festival

Andersonville turns into a gigantic beer garden, music fest and market full of locally made suds (Begyle, Lake Effect, etc.) today and Sunday from noon to 9pm on Clark Street between Argyle and Carmen Avenues. Suggested donation $5; event benefits the Andersonville Development Corporation.

World Music Festival

The World Music Festival runs Sept. 11-21 in a variety of locations around town; see the full schedule for details. All festival events are free.

312 Urban Block Party

Goose Island's annual 312 Urban Block Party runs from 4 to 10pm tonight at the Fulton Street Brewery, 1800 W. Fulton St. Sample rare (and common) Goose Island beers, taste beer-inspired and -infused food, and enjoy live music by Heavy Times, Secret Colours, Twin Peaks, Cayucas, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Thao & the Get Down Stay Down and the Breeders. Tickets are $10. 21+

Elbo Room 25th Anniversary

The Elbo Room, 2871 N. Lincoln Ave., celebrates a quarter century in the business with a show tonight at 7pm, featuring PM Buys, 27 Star Project, Tigernite, Hero Jr. and Stereospeak. Tickets are $10. 21+

BoyGirlBoyGirl: The Bible @ Stage 773
