BrewLights @ Lincoln Park Zoo
Tonight's beer tasting event at Lincoln Park Zoo (2001 N. Clark St., 5:30-9pm) allows you sample a dozen beers (from Great Lakes, Delirium, and Temperance, among others) while looking at all the pretty holiday lights on display. Tickets $40; $15 for designated drivers.
Chicago Filmmakers @ Comfort Station
Tonight at 7pm, Chicago Filmmakers host "From the Archive of..." is a series which features the work of collectors, curators, archivists, etc. from the Chicago area, at the Comfort Station, 2579 N. Milwaukee Ave. Ron Slattery is one of the two individuals to discover Vivian Maier's work in an old storage unit and will screen films from his archive tonight in the series' series first night. Free.
Pocket Guide to Chicago Architecture Reading @ Women & Children First
Author Judith Paine McBrien and illustrator John DeSalvo read from and discuss their Pocket Guide to Chicago Architecture, tonight at 7:30pm at Women & Children First, 5233 N. Clark St. Several of DeSalvo's original illustrations will be on display, and signed copies of the book will be available for purchase.
