No Pants Subway Ride

The Chicago edition of the No Pants Subway Ride is today at around 12:30 on the Red Line. Meet at 11:55am at the parking garage at 1210 W. Arthur Ave. before heading to the Loyola Red Line stop. Dress for the weather on the outside, and wait till you're on the train to doff your pants and reveal your awesome undies.

Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival

The Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival runs Jan. 8-18 at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. The schedule tonight includes 32 shows on four stages, running at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8pm. Tickets are $15 per show, $57 for a one-night pass, or $150 for a festival pass.

Almost There @ Siskel Film Center

The new Kartemquin documentary Almost There makes its Chicago premiere today at 3pm at the Siskel Film Center, 164 N. State St. Artist Peter Anton and filmmakers Dan Rybicky and Aaron Wickenden will be present for audience Q&A after the film. Tickets are $11.

Fillet of Solo Festival

Lifeline Theatre's 18th annual Fillet of Solo Festival of solo performances and storytelling runs Jan. 9-25. Performances are held at the Lifeline Theatre, 6912 N. Glenwood Ave., and the Heartland Studio Theatre, 7016 N. Glenwood Ave. Tickets are $10 per show or $50 for a festival pass, and are available online or at the Lifeline box office.

Serving the Sentence @ Towbar

Serving the Sentence is back up at Towbar, 1500 W. Jarvis Ave., tonight at 7pm with another group of writers whose pieces all begin with the same sentence: "The coffee table was $20,000, I kid you not." Find out where Jake Cowan, Eileen Tull, Lisa Scott, Francesca Peppiatt, Nathalie Lagerfeld and Kendra Stevens go from there. Maggie Jenkins hosts. No cover, and donations will be collected for the Adam Yauch Foundation.

That's All She Wrote @ Great Lakes Tattoo

The live lit series That's All She Wrote is back at Great Lakes Tattoo, 1148 W. Grand Ave. This month's lineup includes Dana Norris, Allen Green, Alexandra Tsarpalas, Valentine Soposky, and Alyson Lyon. Hosted by J.H. Palmer and Angela Benander. Doors open at 7:30, stories begin at 8pm. Free and BYOB.
