Beer and candy go together, as you will find tonight at Katherine Anne Confections (2745 W. Armitage) from 5:30-8:30pm. Caramels, truffles and marshmallows infused with beers, liquors, liqueurs and all the drinky things ensue (honey caramel infused with Daisy Cutter, FEW bourbon-infused marshmallow swirled with banana caramel, etc.). Your $25 ticket gets you samples, savory bites and drinks.
Lumpen celebrates the release of its Field Guide to Chicago Jagoffs with a party at Maria's Community Bar, 960 W. 31st St., tonight from 6pm to close. Hear contributors read their entries about the people, places and practices (past and present) that constitute representative jagoffery, buy original art by Dmitry Samarov, and pick up copies of the guide. No cover, 21+
Aldertrack, which has been keeping tabs on all things related to the Chicago election since 2007, will be holding its first election night party at Kaiser Tiger's Skyline Lounge, 1415 W Randolph. The event, which will be hosted by Rhymefest, will allow attendees to watch the results roll in and is free. It will be from 7 p.m. until midnight.
Dark beer gets its due tonight at the Fountainhead (1970 W. Montrose), with a plethora of dark ales on tap for you to enjoy in winter's last weeks (with "dark music" to accompany). Event runs 7pm-close.
