Unplugged: A Survivor's Story in Scenes & Songs @ Greenhouse Theatre

Greenhouse Theatre's Trellis Reading Series presents a special performance of Unplugged: A Survivor's Story in Scenes & Songs tonight at 7pm. The two-act stage show is based on author-musician Paul McComas' book about Dayna Clay, a musician and rape survivor, and will be performed by McComas, Maya Kuper and the Dayna Clay Band. Admission is free, but donations will be collected to benefit the One Mind for Research and Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network's National Sexual Assault Hotline. The Greenhouse Theatre is at 2257 N. Lincoln Ave.

C2ST Speakeasy @ Geek Bar Beta

The Chicago Council on Science & Technology (C2ST) hosts its monthly Speakeasy event tonight at 7pm at Geek Bar Beta, 1941 W. North Ave. Guest speaker this time is nutritionist and registered dietitian Dr. Kristina Martinez, who will give a talk titled "Diet, Gut Bacteria, and Metabolic Disease: Strategies to Promote Healthy Microbial Communities." Admission is free, but registration is requested. 21+

Story Club @ Co-Prosperity Sphere

The South Side chapter of Story Club is back at Co-Prosperity Sphere, 3219 S. Morgan St., tonight at 7:30pm. The theme is "Duets Part Deux," and the lineup features Ali Al Sayed and Mina Liccione, Lily Be and Xavier Retana, and Alexandra and Audrey Middleton reading stories for two. There will also be some open mic slots. Andrew Marikis hosts. $10 suggested donation at the door. BYOB.
