Reggies 8th Anniversary Bash

Reggies, 2105 S. State St., celebrates its eighth anniversary with shows in both of its concert venues. In the Music Joint beginning at 5pm, see Ralph White, Stevie Tombstone, Mutts, Werewolves at Hour 30 and Mr. Blotto. In the Rock Club starting at 7pm, see Wrong, Ape Machine, Lazer/Wulf, Black Actress, Black Pussy and Black Tusk. Both shows are free. The Music Joint show is 21+, the Rock Club show is 18+.

Sappho's Salon @ Women & Children First

Eileen Tull & Liz Baudler co-curate and host this monthly performance salon at Women & Children First Bookstore (5233 N. Clark), featuring expressions of queerness, gender and feminism. Tonight's show features comedian and co-founder of the Windy City Rollers Elizabeth Gomez and writer and artist Riva Lehrer. Doors open at 7pm and admission is $7 to $10 which benefits the performers and the Women's Voices Fund. BYOB

Beers & Big Shoulders @ Hopleaf

Beers and Big Shoulders, a monthly beer social, returns to the upstairs lounge at Hopleaf, 5148 N. Clark St., at 7:30pm. This month the guests are Claudia Jendron, head brewer of Temperance Beer Co., and beer expert Dave Gibbons. They'll talk with host Mark Bullock about Temperance beers and brewing in formerly dry Evanston. Tickets are $25 online or at the door, and include samples of four beers and snacks courtesy of the Hopleaf; stick around afterward to talk with the brewers and enjoy more beer. 21+
