DAYBREAKER @ 1st Ward at Chop Shop

Have you ever joined a group for early morning yoga, then a 7am dance party led by high-octance dance beats? No? Well, here's your chance. Chicago's first installment of DAYBREAKER, a nationwide movement to have the best morning ever, is here. The party occurs @ 1st Ward at Chop Shop, located at 2033 W. Six Points Reading Series @ Cultural Center

The Poetry Center of Chicago hosts the monthly Six Points Reading Series. This month features Hadara Bar-Nadav and Jennifer Moore. Tonight from 6pm to 7pm, hear poets read their work in the Garland Room at the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington St. Free.

Twin Pines Mall Release @ Emporium Wicker Park

Pipeworks Brewing teamed up with Jared Saul, beer buyer at Emporium Arcade Bar, to create Twin Pines Mall, a Back to the Future-themed beer brewed with spruce tips and wildflower honey. They'll be releasing it tonight at 7pm -- the day Marty McFly and Doc Brown travel to in Back to the Future II -- exclusively at the Wicker Park Emporium location, 1366 N. Milwaukee Ave. There will be a Marty & Doc costume contest, raffle and other fun stuff. No cover, 21+

Story Lab @ Mrs. Murphy's & Sons Irish Bistro

New voices telling new stories. Join Story Lab for an intimate evening of storytelling in the cozy back room of one of Chicago's best pubs. Each month, an entirely different lineup of up-and-coming storytellers will share their freshest pieces. This month's lineup features Becca Bowlin, Rebecca Duxler, Dan Finnen, Steve Glickman, and Nitsana Lazerus. Doors at 6:30pm, show's at 7pm at Mrs. Murphy's & Sons Irish Bistro, 3905 N. Jerome Pohlen @ Women & Children First

Join Jerome Pohlen tonight at 7:30 pm at Women & Children First for a presentation, Q&A and signing of his new book, Gay & Lesbian History for Kids: The Century-Long Struggle for LGBT Rights, with 21 Activities. His interactive history book for kids age 9 and up offers personal stories and firsthand accounts of key events in the LGBT movement and for this event, the author will share photos and short films that did not appear in the book.

Back to the Future Day @ High Noon Saloon

In honor of Marty McFly's prediction of the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series in 2015, High Noon Saloon, 1560 N. Milwaukee Ave., is hosting a back-to-back movie special of Back to the Future and Back to the Future Part II tonight at 9pm. A live update of the conclusion of game four of the National League Championship Series with the Cubs. Movie-inspired cocktails, along with regular Wednesday drink specials, will be available. No cover and free popcorn sounds like a good deal, right?

Youth Lagoon @ Thalia Hall

Youth Lagoon is touring in support of his recent release, Savage Hills Ballroom. Catch his dreamy psychedelic pop at Thalia Hall on Wednesday, 10/21 with the opener Moon King. For general admission, tickets cost $19 in advance or $21 at the door; seated balcony tickets cost $27. They're available here, and doors open at 7 pm.
