Nate Duncan, 1930-2006
Nate Duncan, owner of Nate's Deli, the Maxwell Street destination that was torn down by the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1994, passed away this week. GB book club readers will remember Nate Duncan as one of the four people featured in our May 2006 book club pick, Near West Side Stories: Struggles for Community in Chicago's Maxwell Street Neighborhood by Carolyn Eastwood.
