Josh H. / February 25, 2007 1:54 PM

Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy
The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami
Gravity's Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon
The Book of Dave by Will Self

And about two-three months of back-issues of Monthly Review and Harper's Magazine.

Tyler / February 25, 2007 11:54 PM

The Liar's Club by Mary Karr
Independence Day by Richard Ford
Set This House on Fire by William Styron

My queue is a little dry at the moment, which is rare for me. I've been trying to track down a copy of The Bridge by Ian Bainks, to no avail, however.

Lori / February 27, 2007 8:54 AM

The Hummingbird's Daughter

Uglies/Pretties (from the pile of shared books w/ my 11 year old)

The Ungerground History of American Education by John Taylor Gatto, which is available in it's entirety on his website: http://www.johntaylorgatto.com/underground/index.htm

My to-read pile is embarrassingly large. One of my resolutions for this year was to read more of my unread books and stop buying so many new books. I've been making some progress. Next up on my pile are:

Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
On Pilgrimage by Jennifer Lash

I'm really into travel writing...

I'm only about 15 pages into Thunderstruck by Eric Larson, and I'm a little stuck, so technically it's still on my "to do" list. I think I'm going to go back and reread The Namesake as I just saw the preview for the movie adaptation.

Veronica / February 28, 2007 12:31 PM

The Hummingbird's Daughter, of course. I'm only 200 pages in, so I've got to hunker down with it if I want to finish by meeting time.

I also started reading Maureen Dowd's Are Men Necessary?, which is surprisingly less insightful than I thought it would be. Part of me wants to toss it off and part of me wants to finish it so I can ridicule it properly. I'll probably finish it because I do love a good ridicule.

Beyond that I don't know what I'll read next! I guess I'll have to see what jumps out at me.
