What is your pick for “best book of 2007”?
Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts. There were parts of this book that were pretty cheesy, but the story was so incredible that it was absolutely fantastic. It described Bombay in a way that no tourist book ever would -- or could. I loved it.
I think 2007 will go down as "the year I started reading Fables" by Bill Willingham. I am so addicted to that series now, and its spin-off series, Jack of Fables. Love it, love it, love it.

The best book I read, or the most memorable at least, was Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale. I had never read it before and was floored by how good the story was. I don't read too many books the year they come out - I don't have that kind of money.
