Who is your favorite mystery author?
I'm a sucker for the Cadfael series by Ellis Peters. I also love "The Daughter of Time" by Josephine Tey, and enjoy Ian Pear's "art history mysteries." And I still love Agatha Christie. She was the best.

Laurie R. King! I'm re-reading the Russell & Holmes series just now. Have you seen this series, where Holmes has a young, feminist sidekick? Great stuff. King also writes the Matinelli series about a San Fran cop.
Sara Paretsky is a close second.
