- Tonight: Brenda Wilhelmson reads from Diary of an Alcoholic Housewife at the Book Cellar.
- Tonight: Nina Sankovitch reads from Tolstoy and the Purple Chair: My Year of Magical Reading at Women and Children First.
- Saturday (Pitchfork what?): Rea Frey ( The Cheat Sheet ) at Tamale Hut Café Presents Reading Series in North Riverside.
- Saturday (Union Park who?): Red Rover Reading Series #46: Magnetic Affinities and Altered Relations at Outer Space Studio.
- Saturday: Sappho's Salon features Chelsey Clammer at Women and Children First.
- Sunday: Author and DePaul instructor Miles Harvey presents "How To Be A Writer When You Can't Write Every Day" at the Harold Washington Library Center.
- Sunday: Michael Harvey reads from We All Fall Down at the Hidden Shamrock, part of the Chicago Way Reading Series.
In non-weekend news:
- The Poetry Foundation, along with HBO, has had their production of A Child's Garden of Poetry nominated for an Emmy.
