I've often wondered what the Chicago Botanic Gardens would be like in the winter. How sparse does the place look? How stark is it compared to the lush greenery of nature in full swing in the warm months?
Well, what better way to find out than to visit the Gardens in the winter and take photos.
It was cold, windy and if I had to summarize the excursion and what I saw, I'd say, "It was like seeing a theme park gone bad." Or I'd say, "It's like the behind-the-scenes of the beauty."
Despite those two statements, it was actually remarkably stunning in its own quiet and desolate way. I have proof.
