2006's Best Restaurants are the New 2007's Best Restaurants
Being the controversial mindblowers they are, Restaurant Magazine released their annual S. Pellegrino's World's 50 Best Restaurants List today, with two local Chicago places (Alinea and Charlie Trotter's) making the cut. While I am still filling up my swear jar in the hopes of affording a side dish at one of these places some day, I can't help but wonder why critics think Chicago (and basically, North America) has under ten restaurants worth visiting. Luckily, Restaurant's pony-tailed cousin Gourmet has their own list of America's 50 Best Restaurants for those who are too scared to fly to the heralded El Bulli and yet even more scared to eat at little-known restaurants.
