• It seems like just about the only publication Michael Nagrant doesn't write for these days is Gapers Block; he's writing a bimonthly column for Serious Eats. His first is an interview with Tobey Maloney of The Violet Hour.

• Maloney's all over the place this week, too. The Reader has wall-to-wall coverage, with two recipe posts and a review of The Violet Hour.

• Chicagoist wished the Big Mac a happy birthday and took some photos of Moto food.

Gawker thinks the real villain on "Top Chef" is Dale Levitski. The Stew just thinks he's a bitch.

• Pro-bono Baker took some sumptuous photos of hand-made pasta from Pasta Fresh, 3418 N. Harlem Ave.
