Get Your State Dinner Here!
Maybe you weren't one of the lucky ones to snag an invite to President Obama's first White House state dinner, but that doesn't mean you still can't enjoy the meal.
On Wednesday, December 9, C-House Fish and Chops' (166 E. Superior) Executive Chef Nicole Pederson and Pastry Chef Toni Roberts will be recreating the menu from the November 24th event that they worked on with Chef Marcus Samuelsson and the White House team.
The largely vegetarian meal features flavors found in Indian cuisine to recognize the guest of honor, Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India. The four-course meal also includes the wine pairings of the evening, and--if you've forgotten--the following menu:
1st Course
Potato and Eggplant Salad with arugula, onion seed vinaigrette
2008 Modus Operandi, Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley California
2nd Course
Red Lentil Soup with apples, fresh cheese
2006 Brooks Winery, "Ara", Willamette Valley Oregon
Entrée
Green Curry Prawns with caramelized salsify,
smoked collard greens and coconut aged basmati
2007 Beckmen Vineyards, Grenache, Santa Ynez California
Dessert
Pumpkin Pie Tart & Pear Tarte Tatin
NV Thibaut-Janisson, Brut
The meal will cost $54, $74 if you add the wine pairings, not including tax and gratuity. C-House's regular menu will also be offered throughout the dinner service, which runs from 5:30-10 PM. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 312-0523-0923.
