How to Asian-ify your Thanksgiving Menu

Who needs rosemary and butter when you have fish sauce and miso paste? Replace your lackluster menu with the following subsititution suggestions.

Appetizers
Soy-soaked eggs
Kimchi
Salted edamame
Dumplings
Yakitori chicken or beef
Thai papaya salad (som tam) or chicken larb
Sushi or sashimi

Turkey
Pecking duck (From only the best in town: Sun Wah BBQ)
Teriyaki-glazed chicken wings with sesame seeds
Tandoori Turkey
Char Siu (Chinatown or Argyle may be your best options for this.)

Cranberry Sauce
Cranberry chutney (with naan)

Green Bean Casserole
Fried bok choy with teriyaki sauce and garlic
Chinese string beans baked with curried tofu
Oyster omelet

Jap Chae (sweet potato noodles)

Cornbread
Bing (Bacon, potato, cheese bing from Parachute? Yes)
Baos (stick your peking duck or char siu in this, with some fresh scallions)

Stuffin'
Sticky rice with oyster mushrooms and Chinese sausage
Takeout fried rice
