As a student of history: no.

As a Cubs fan: yes.

Considering that a Cubs World Series win is likely to signal the end of life as we know it, I'm torn as to which to go with.

Kris / May 19, 2003 10:04 AM

Shhhhhhh! You'll jinx it!

Paul / May 19, 2003 11:00 AM

No. No. No. No. No.

Andrew / May 19, 2003 11:37 AM

Oh, come on! They're in first place in their division! What could go wrong?

Adam / May 19, 2003 3:19 PM

Doesn't something always go wrong with the cubs?

Matt / May 19, 2003 4:08 PM

Isn't that the understatement of the century? Well, 95 years at least.

Carlos / May 20, 2003 8:46 AM

Cubs win!!! Cubs Win!!! Cubs Win!!!

Wouldn't it be nice hearing that on Game 7 of the 2003 World Series?!?!

jima / May 20, 2003 10:55 AM

Man, I don't even *like* basketball!

Shylo / May 20, 2003 11:00 AM

What would Chicago do if it caught its tail?

Jeffrey Utech / May 20, 2003 1:01 PM

I'm saying no, if only to protect myself. I have seen the Cubs in first place through June too many times, only to have my heart broken by the end of the season.
