I must have at least one liter of vodka a day in order to stop the voices.
I'm gonna take the fifth on this one. In both senses of the term. Bah dum bump.
Any cocktail with a fancy name and colour.
Yes, I'm a proud metrosexual.
:-))
Last summer, all margaritas. El Cid in particular.
Now, gin and tonics. Summer drinks!
I may have *a* drink 5 nights a week (a good beer, or a glass of wine).
However I probably have multiple drinks (ahem, get more than tipsy) 4 nights a week. But I'm not a lush, I swear.
My poison:
- Good beer
- Whiskey & diet coke
- Gin & tonic
- whatevers on special
I'm working to shed the pounds these days, so I'm not drinking hardly anything at all these days (like maybe one drink per month, seriously), but I'm looking forward to enjoying again (in careful moderation):
Beer - Shiner Bock - have loved this for 20 years, sucking it down at Kay's Lounge in Houston. When they finally started selling it up here, they eliminated the last little thing that I missed about living in Texas. Now I never, ever have to go back.
The hard stuff - I do like a good whiskey. Sometimes rocks, sometimes neat.
Mixed - At a bar, vodka tonic. At home, at a party, I love a Club Rock Shandy (an lemon/orange irish soda you can get at Treasure Island which is really tart) with an orange infused vodka.
i may have the ocassional glass of wine/beer with dinner about twice a week, and get pretty shitty about every other week. sometimes more, sometimes less.
I try to have a daily glass of red, but wine in the summertime isn't for me. An occasional Dos Esquis Amber is good when I'm in the backyard BBQ-ing some dinner.
I like beer (good and bad), bourbon and whiskey.
I have a beer or three maybe twice a week and get stupid drunk what seems like every weekend this summer.
God, thanks for making me calculate this... about everyother day, some weeks more than others.
Beverage choices: Beer (good beer, but have been know to drink a Miller High Life or MGD on a rare occasion. No fucking PBR!!!)
2) Scotch.
3) Wine once in a while.
The summertime season definitely calls for a change in the drink menu. I find that vodka lemonade makes a good summer drink. Margaritas, too.
As much as I prefer red wine, I try to stay away from it during the summer months because it's very dehydrating. A dry white wine's better. Or best yet: sangria -- mixed with fruit and soda, the works. If you're making up a batch for company that's aiming to get a buzz on, I recommend also mixing in a bottle of dry cider (which means almost any brand except Woodchuck).
I recommend reading this; though admittedly Amis's tastes and orientations were a bit dated and very English and should be approached with a high degree of caution/skepticism. At the least, it's a very funny read.
never. i'm alcohol intolerant, meaning i can't metabolize it. but before i realized this, i used to really like red wine and whiskey sours. *pout*
as much as i like to think "every day, but only in the summer" i forget how depressing winter is and the fact that i tend to drink about every day then, too. free happy hour at work on fridays doesn't help either.
i prefer maker's and ginger any time of year.
margaritas in the summer (seconding el cid and the patio).
red wine in the winter.
and lastly, i call bullshit on that forbes survey. chicago can't be below top 3, i refuse to believe it.
I am finding myself preferring mojitos this summer. Usually, it's campari and soda or bourbon and dry, but mojito it is today.
I drink a lot. By that I mean often and in large amounts. I drink crappy beer but very good wine. Never have mixed drinks. I love champaign, but it makes me nuts. I get stupid on the weekends but keep things in check during the week. A typical weeks is nothing on Monday and Tuesday, Wed. several crap beers after softball, Thursday, good wine with dinner. I have a bottle, he has a bottle. Friday, each a bottle of wine, followed by crap beer until time for bed. Saturday, get pretty tanked. Sunday, recover.
Annie...
Marry me.
But seriously, slow down. A bottle of wine and THEN beer? Some some of that energy for old age.
Some weeks I'm having glass upon glass of white wine with dinner, then others I don't drink until Saturday, when I toss back copious amounts of whiskey, or PBR. The BF drinks at least one beer per night.
My favorite drink is a mojito, but I rarely get to enjoy them.
I've been trying to simmer down with how much I drink, but not necessarily how often. Having said that, I probably have a drink or drinks 5-6 nights/week.
My preferences: vodka on the rocks or wine.
Eh, maybe once a month or so. I have no tolerance and I have gotten annoyed with my "Captain Obvious" behavior after one beer.
Though I discovered that half a shot to a full shot of whiskey will eradicate really bad headaches. I can't drive after that, but it works.
I'm a fan of whiskey. I especially like whiskey in one of those vanilla frappacino things. Pretty yummy.

When am I not drinking?
What's my favorite adult beverage? Wot 'ave ya got?
I quit drinking a little over a month ago. It's incredible what I can get done with a clear head.
Alot like Annie w/ cheap liquor instead of cheap beer and no corp. ass-kissing softball. Fav - JAGER!
Sangria is my favorite, followed by wine, Lambic Framboise, then orange flavored girly beers or mixed drinks like amaretto and coke. I don't like beer or anything that tastes like alcohol.
I've never been a big drinker, but I drink even less now that I'm training for the marathon.
Never. I'm a teetotaler.
I had an answer for this but now I just feel bad about myself. Who else needs a drink?
I'm like Hal. I'm shedding pounds so I've pretty much abstained for the past 2.5 months.
Note to you kiddies: as you get older your alcohol tolerance decreases, it takes a lot LESS to get plastered on. Celebrate or bemoan that fact as you wish.
If I weren't on a diet I'd probably have about 4-6 oz. of wine daily. For reds my favorite is syrah, reisling for white. And champagne is wonderful!
I don't drink much beer these days but I definitely like bitter ales, the bitterer the better! The exception: lambic, frambois preferred.
Don't do hard liquor, but for mixed drinks it's a nice spicy bloody mary for me.
i drink as often as possible, and find that certain daily activities are much more amusing with drink in hand.
anything that comes out of a plastic bottle is good enough for me. plastic is least likely to shatter when it slips out of my drunken hands. i also drink out of children's sippy cups; it reminds me of my youth.

I love to imbibe, my favorite cocktail is a scotch on the rocks, or a good quality beer. My absolute favorite adult beverage is an OldStyle at Wrigley.
Right now, my liver is trying to repair itself after a three-day binge.
Carlotta, I think I have to dispute your claim, I wasn't saving ANY money this weekend.
Say, who wants to split a sixer for lunch?
Gaigen -
Aw shucks, thanks, but I'm already married. That lucky bastard!! And I'm already getting old, drinking is in my blood, as in genes, so I'm pretty sure it will do what it has for the rest of the elders...preserve me. (with that said, I'm actually in pretty good shape, I manage to make it to the gym about 4 to 5 mornings a week). And I will defend myself here, my softball team is hardly corporate, we are more like the bad news bears.
I have one drink maybe five nights out of the week. Maybe one or two more if it is a weekend night.
Normally this consists of either beer (either my own homebrew, or one of a variety of American microbrews) or single-malt scotch (neat), but I do have a glass of red wine every once and a while too.
My alcohol consumption tends to vary a bit - there was a period earlier this year when I didn't go out much and went almost two months without having a drink - but typically I'll have a drink three to five times a week, and more than that two or three times a month.
My drinks of choice? Decent beer, mostly. I tend to favor Guiness and ales in the winter, and wheat beers in the summer, though I'm frequently all over the place (and have been known to have the odd Bud at a barbeque). I also drink red wine. If I want to drink a bit more, I'll go for a gin and tonic, or sometimes a scotch on the rocks.
Probably 3-4 nights a week. More often now after reading all of these excellent suggestions/reminders. Well done, people, well done.
Drinks of choice: wine, gin and tonic, jack and coke, a good Hefeweizen. Will drink Sangria like a fish if available. I also get drunk rather quickly, so I end up being a very cheap, and cooperative, date. You'll then see me at the local karaoke joint embarrassing myself. Happily, I might add.
Bailey's with a hint of caramel. Daily. Takes the edge off my morning Lavazza and CTA.
Lolo likes gin with Mountain Dew.

I generally have a glass of Target boxed merlot with dinner, but not every night. I'm not at home and don't think I have any at home but I'm not going to stop and pick up a box either.
