i'm in need of a party as the party i planned on going to ended up being canceled! if i find somewhere to go, i've got audrey hepburn from breakfast at tiffany's all lined up for my costume.

Caffrin / October 27, 2010 10:26 AM

I might as well write it down here so there's even less of a chance I'll back out: I'm going to be Lindsay Juggalohan this year. All I need is some clown makeup, a strawberry blonde wig, some leggings, Uggs, and a giant purse filled with Faygo.

mom / October 27, 2010 10:36 AM

I'm going to be an exhausted mother of 4. Again.

Andrew / October 27, 2010 10:54 AM

Caffrin, that is one of the best I've heard!

I'm hosting a Halloween party, so I can't divulge my costume, but safe to say it's not that badass.

eee / October 27, 2010 11:03 AM

I'm going to Andrew's party. If he's not divulging his costume, then I'm not divulging mine. Originally I was thinking of wearing scrubs and this hat and being a "nurse shark." I told a few people and no one got it, so I changed costumes.

I am dressing up for my office contest as a sugar skull. I am decorating my desk as an offrenda, hoping that puts me over the top and I win first prize, which is probably a bag of candy or a candle.

Spook / October 27, 2010 1:31 PM

I'm going as;
the one spawned out of a rock, the center and guarding of the crossroads,
the gate keeper
and intermediary
between the Orisha and the world that you know, the trickster child, the old man walking back roads with a cane, the patron of interpreters and travelers,
the ruler of fate, chance, roads, doors, mirrors, crossroads, contradictions, opportunities, primordial light, and the daytime Sun as it travels across the sky.

The one called many names like, the Pusher of Envelopes, Tata Elegua,Lucero, El NiƱo de Atocha, Papa Legba, St. Martin, Archangle Michael,Exu or Eshu.

I will wear red and black,a broad brimmed straw hat, and
a cross representing the crossroads. I will also carry a machete
called Le Baton Legba and smoke Ellegua's trade mark cigars.

Happy All Souls Day!

i'm going as spook.

fluffy / October 27, 2010 7:21 PM

hey Spook, I think I saw that costume at Party City in Franklin Park.

My friend has had a Halloween Party for most of the 20 years that I've known him. So, I'm starting to re-cycle costume ideas that I wore in the 90s. I'm going as Wonder Woman.

William Dewey / October 28, 2010 10:09 AM

I'm going as Don Draper for Halloween. I'm going to show up clean shaven in a gray suit. I'll get drunk and flirt with all the women. Most importantly, I'll say lots of vaguely intimate things - always in the third person.

Suzanne / October 28, 2010 11:03 AM

My dear friends at Stone Soup Cooperative on Ashland are hosting a Halloween Party on Saturday night, drag attire encouraged. I chose a classic costume this year that I could be a girl-version of for Friday's Critical Mass and then flip into a boy-version for Saturday's Stone Soup party. I dressed my boyfriend up in drag last night, in choice selections from my closet, to get his costume together. It was a memorable experience to see him enjoy it so much.

Sam / October 28, 2010 2:13 PM

Suit, tutu, and a 'Vote for Rahm' pin. It's what frightens me.

Kara / October 28, 2010 2:56 PM

NOT a Heather from Heathers.

Alex / October 28, 2010 3:58 PM

Lookatthisfuckinghipster
&
Lookatthisfuckingteabagge
at once.

Terrible facial hair, keffiyeh, rolled up jeans and pale legs, along with helvetica Glenn&Rush&Newt&Sarah tee and fitted cap with Starbucks teabags stapled to it. Possibly a prop sign saying something akin to "THOMAS PAINE IS MY HOMEBOY" or "I HATED THE DEBT BEFORE IT WAS COOL." Or somethin'.
