Almost never. I used to get sick almost every winter. But since I started getting a flu shot every year, nothing.
Once a year, between Xmas and my birthday at the end of January. I know it's because I'm rundown.
Usually only once a year, and so far nothing has lasted longer than a week. I should add that I enjoy peppers, hot sauce or jalapeno salsa on a daily basis.
Since I started working out regularly and became diligent about washing my hands after touched anything of questionable cleanliness. The exception is when I'm stressed or overworked which usually breaks up my workout routine and sleep and bam! The next thing you know I'm sick. It never fails.
I was sick last 4th of July with something horrible. Not a cold, not the flu, just something terrible. Nothing since then, which is surprising b/c everyone at my work got sick this winter. I usually catch a cold or 2 at some point during the winter. I know in the past year or so, my diet has really improved, so I'd like to think that's why I fought the colds this year. Now, if I just jinxed myself I'm not going to be happy. ha
Mucky-- you mention peppers- does that include bell peppers? If so, you may be on to something. I have a variety of bell peppers on my salad every day. I also have jalapenos a few times a week...
Maybe every 4-5 years.
I was unlucky enough this year to get the H1N1 virus (2 other people in my office caught it before me: if you are sick, stay home, for Christ's sake!). I literally felt like I was dying. I remember laying on the couch and saying to myself, "this is it, I'm dying". Besides that, I've not been sick at all this past year.
Annually. A 48-hour bug. I know it's coming, I know what to expect. It's like clockwork--one bad day, one feeling generally like @#$%$ day, and then back to normal on day 3. I could even call in sick to work a day in advance, if that wouldn't look so slacker-ish.
Rarely anything that requires more than getting to bed early one night. And when I do really catch something, like earlier this week, it's usually gone in a day or two anyway.
But I used to get Strep every summer and got it for the first time in a while this past summer. A few times, I realized what has happening too late before I got it treated and got laid up for almost a week. And the symptoms change as you get older, apparently, so it's not as instantly recognizable. Bleh.
This is the SECOND consecutive winter I have not gotten sick. I credit three things. First, I shop for groceries in the middle of the night when nasty peeps and their nasty children they feel compelled to drag everywhere are asleep. Second, I wash my hands like I'm Howard Hughes. Third, I bought a car so CTA is dead to me. No more sharing a bus with nasty peeps and their nasty germ-ridden children.
I encourage everyone else to do the same.
A couple of sniffles 2 or 3 times a year. Nothing that brings me down.
But of course, as soon as this question appeared a few days ago, I felt that back-of-the-throat feeling, and now I've got full-on-sneezing/sniffling/stopped-up-face.

I don't think of myself as sickly, but I get two or three sinus infections a year. I've decided to finally take my doctor's advice and get a CT scan to see what's up with my sinuses.
