I've seen a lot of helping people onto the bus sorts of things. That step is huge...

The New York Times calling William M. Daley and "outsider"

Made me get all teary eyed and such, thinking of Pony Boy, Dallas, Soda Pop, and Two Bit and all.

When the old man on the bus turned to the some-what skinny guy and said that he has a solution to his sexual identity crisis and can be cured quickly by going to the Admiral. Better than electroshock therapy to make someone normal again.

I f***ed up my realtionship and lost my girl to a musician, and then to an astrophysicist...both much cooler than I

i lost my teaching job last year and now work for the same district as a tech trainer. i stopped by my old HS yesterday and got 8 hugs and 4 handshakes from former students in the halls and they all told me how much they missed me. makes ya feel good.

As round two of project of mine starts (Dance Experiment) and another takes sign-ups for round one (Improv Experiment) - strangers who want to scare/challenge themselves and meet new people work with a teacher to learn something they're bad at and then perform it in front of an audience - I got the below email from a stranger:

"I am just thrilled that you exist. It sounds like you have done so much to develop community here in Chicago!"

My shot of sweetness for the day.

A bus driver this morning didn't make me run through traffic to get to the east corner of Belmont at the Lincoln/Ashland intersection. He let me on the bus on the west corner.

My battery was dead, and as I was standing there helplessly with my jumper cables, a cabbie stopped to give me a jumpstart. He wouldn't take any money as compensation when I offered, and hopped back in his cab and was gone before I could insist.

My oldest sister gave me a kidney. That's just about the kindest thing that anyone can do. I'll be forever grateful.

Thanks Jan.
