Rhymefest's "Blue Collar." Back it up, back it up.

And Cut Chemist's "The Audience's Listening."

eep / March 16, 2007 12:01 PM

I just picked up VAST's 2004 album Nude at a used CD store, as well as a collection of the Police's greatest hits.

jennifer / March 16, 2007 12:01 PM

Shiner - "The Egg"

I'm trying to rebuild my collection after selling most of it off when i moved to new york 2 years ago.

miss casual / March 16, 2007 12:08 PM

i just bought keyshia cole 'the way it is' this morning. it was certainly long over due.

i also bought fat joe - 'make it rain' and franchize boys - 'i think they like me'. both also overdue but not albums per se. its funny how few full albums i buy anymore.

spence / March 16, 2007 12:15 PM

cursor miner - danceflaw

charlie / March 16, 2007 12:28 PM

I stole KISS ALIVE from K-Mart in 1976

jen / March 16, 2007 12:42 PM

neon bible by the arcade fire, along with everyone else.

stole? umm.... i can't answer that on my work computer. ;)

Thurston / March 16, 2007 12:49 PM

"O Melhor de Tim Maia", by Tim Maia, and "Transfiguration of Vincent" by M. Ward.

kate / March 16, 2007 12:49 PM

The latest Heartless Bastards record.

Next up will be the new Ponys record.

dave / March 16, 2007 12:50 PM

I think it was Joanna Newsom, "The Milk-Eyed Mender." It's been some time since I've gotten a full album, though.

printdude / March 16, 2007 1:21 PM

CD - the Mars Volta - Frances the Mute
Vinyl - Mint copy of Hot Rats by Frank Zappa

David / March 16, 2007 1:21 PM

Nas - Illmatic

It wipes the slate clean, end of story. Plus, the man's going to be shakin' the Congress soon.

skafiend / March 16, 2007 1:21 PM

Do they actually mean "album"? As in vinyl? A copy of the King Pleasure/Annie Ross dual album from the Newberry Library book sale. if they mean CD, probably that Stereo MC's CD from the Brown Elephant in Andersonville....

skafiend / March 16, 2007 1:23 PM

Oh, and WAY TO GO, CHARLIE!!! Stick it to the Man!!!

p / March 16, 2007 1:53 PM

last cd bought- (at same time)
iron maiden "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son"
miami vice (sntrk. from tv show)

last cd stolen while over-served and lost on a college campus, tackled by store employees out the door but get away, then run around the block and take off shirt (for a disguise) and walk away while whistling - goodie mobb "soul food"

last tape stolen- temple of the dog "temple of the dog"

last cassingle stolen- danzig "mother"

last record purchased- liquid liquid "liquid liquid"

last tape bought w/ shoveling money, taken away by parents for questionable content, then stolen back from parents' dresser- big daddy kane "it's a big daddy thing"

worst tape purchase- that dude who constantly walks around selling his "mixtapes" saying his main influences are the Four Fathers of philosophy and it consists of him talking in muted tones with wu-tang playing on a radio in the background

Dunl / March 16, 2007 2:32 PM

I finally just bought David Bowie's Low (well, the 1999 Virgin CD remaster).

Jill / March 16, 2007 3:03 PM

I traded in a bunch of old CDs to get:

The Shins --Wincing the Night Away
and
OK Go --Oh No

mary / March 16, 2007 3:14 PM

i pirated owen's at home with owen and arcade fire's neon bible.

i still feel bad about the owen album, but i'll go see him in april to make up for it.

Emerson Dameron / March 16, 2007 3:44 PM

I moonlight as a music writer. I get a lot of free CDs in the mail, most of them not so hot. It might sound like a good scam, but I've heard it compared to being a geologist... "You get all those free rocks!"

Last DL'ed:
An amazing Colombian psychedelic record from '68 by a band called Speakers, via these guys:
http://fm-shades.blogspot.com/

Last actually bought:
A collection of bits from Joe Frank's various radio shows.

d. / March 16, 2007 3:49 PM

days to come by bonobo

TKO / March 16, 2007 3:51 PM

Apples In Stereo - New Magnetic Wonder

mike / March 16, 2007 4:01 PM

Last 3 records:
velvet underround and nico
can- rite time
donna summer -greatest hits

Liza / March 16, 2007 4:38 PM

I downloaded Of Montreal's Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer and loved it so much I went out and bought the LP for the 4 bonus tracks. And so I could blast it super-loud when my neighbors are having the loud sex they always seem to have.

Leelah / March 16, 2007 4:41 PM

Arcade Fire - Neon Bible (of course)

Graham / March 16, 2007 6:42 PM

My most recent 3:

- Amon Tobin "Foley Room"
- Drop The Lime vs. Syrup Girls "Shotgun Wedding, Vol. 4" mix-cd
- OOIOO "Taiga"

Um,...stole? Please define your terms.

Kate Duva / March 16, 2007 10:39 PM

BORAT (Stereophonic Musical Listenings that Have Been Origin in Moving Film). Frenetic gypsy beats to set your pelvis afire. I've also purchased some children's alphabet disco albums.

Steve / March 17, 2007 12:52 AM

Make Another World by Idlewild.

It's, like, 50 percent less REM-ish than the last one. In a good way!

christian / March 17, 2007 8:04 AM

The Good, The Bad & The Queen – self titled
Lucinda Williams - West
Eleni Mandell - Miracle of Five

jen / March 17, 2007 11:27 AM

ok... stole?
new albums from: feist, battles, maximo park.

Jeremy / March 17, 2007 4:14 PM

Mercury Rev - Deserter's Songs

Given my love of the Flaming Lips, I have no idea how this slipped by my collection for so long.

Printdude, I lifted my dad's vinyl of Hot Rats the day I moved out of the house.

jonk / March 17, 2007 4:33 PM

stealing implies it belongs to somebody - and i don't buy that

Ramsin / March 17, 2007 10:56 PM

Slum Village S/T 2-disc. I also bought a molemen record that hasn't arrived yet. Hey, Molemen, don't make me get my torrentspy on.

Ian / March 18, 2007 8:00 AM

Die For Your Government - Anti-Flag

I feel like I'm back in high-school!

adam / March 18, 2007 10:50 AM

Last bought: Shut Yo' Mouth! (Slam Stewart, Majoy Holley, Dick Hyman)

Last downloaded: Roberto Menescal e Seu Conjunto - Bossa Nova (1964).

I don't remember actually stealing a vinyl/tape/CD, but my memory can be spotty, as my friends will attest to.

I mostly download out of print or hard to get music, so I don't feel bad about that. I also buy a good number of CDs, mostly used, so I think one feeds off the other.

ISG / March 18, 2007 1:24 PM

I "retained" my former partner's CD---Blood on the Tracks (Dylan). He moved out. Blood on the Tracks stayed. And I'm not sorry. And I'm not bitter.

SR / March 18, 2007 4:06 PM

Last two I bought: The Rza "Afro-Samurai Soundrack" & Vusi Mahlasela "Guiding Star"

Next two to buy: new albums by Modest Mouse and Andrew Bird on March 20

michelle / March 19, 2007 7:56 AM

"Once Again" by John Legend. I love that guy.

Sir Charles / March 22, 2007 6:58 AM

Stole my first ever illegal album off the net yesterday:
Counting Crows- Desert Life

I'm so high off this new jam by White Stripes (the slow song that picks up!lol!) I forget its name! tsk tsk!

Funny, last album I actually bought was D12 world!

Thanks to numerous iPods, i am constantly "buying" from other iPods, and no credit cards down here in Africa, so iTunes store, though tempting, is useless...

Charles Mwiyeretsi / March 28, 2007 5:25 AM

+44!!
Blink 182 lives on....
