a great new cooking blog
http://bluekitchen.wordpress.com/
Well, House In Progress for good DIY ideas. And I'm kind of having a little renaissance with my own blog.
I never miss nadablog. It's still funny after all these years.
I love avantchicago - but am i highly self-centered - beyond that Can You See The Sunset.
oh boy... the self-promotion floodgates have opened.
just to clarify, blue kitchen is not my blog! i linked it to my name bcs i didn't know the link in the text would show up.
My friend's blog, To Whom it may concern
I absolutely refuse to self-promote. I find it wholy unethical. (wink)
I've always found Derek Erdman's blog/site to be an endless source of amusement. Dude kills me.
Fecundmellow
because she keeps "disappointing "the race" one blog entry at a time"
http://fecundmellow.blogspot.com/
The Tell.Tale.Heart Studio
-A step-by-step account of the art-related projects-
p.s I don't self promote either, between the trouble I start here and my blog
I'm afraid of blog sabotage,
death threats, violent stalkers, etc
One thing I've noticed is despite the trend for many of the newspapers to start blogs, they still all either suck or simply don't get it. For example, the Sun-Times blogs barely add anything you couldn't get from the paper. And the Trib's blogs are pretty hidden and hard to find.
If anyone cares to save Rogers Park:
Ever since the Trib's Letters to the Editor page started allowing comments, I have become totally obsessed with it. I check it about nine times a day. Some of the people in this town have some frightening ideas.
Time is pretty short at work so I tend to click on the group blogs like Metroblogging and Chicagoist. Don't click on my blog, it totally sucks, just ask anyone!
I am interviewing for a position at FeedBurner. Considering that you all seem to know quite a bit about blogs can I ask that you give me a few comments on FeedBurner and their services? I am new to the blogging world and appreciate any thoughts.
Thanks,
Chris
http://detroitblog.org/ is an amazing place. Explore the ruins, deplore the reasons, climb to the top of the scrapheap and still hold out a little tearfelt hope for the motor City and then be thankful you live in Chicago.

Enigmatic and beautiful stuff
I like Jessica Hopper:
http://tiny.abstractdynamics.org
the beachwood reporter and the So-Called Austin Mayor blog.
As far as young, hip art coverage in town goes, I've been digging Art or Idiocy? for some time now. It's simple and casual and dude sometimes posts sporadically, but it's the only one of its sort for the local art scene. He should maybe consider turning it into something more in the way of a group effort.
Independent Music:

It's kind of a big deal.
Dear Brian.
I love you. :) Thank you for still reading after all thse years.
Has anyone checked our Leigh Hanlon's latest blog, http://chicagoscope.com/ ?
I really like his stuff a lot. Apologies if it's been mentioned already.
It isn't updated much now, but:
http://cakeandpolka.blogspot.com/
...has a backlog of weird MP3s that merits perusal.
I also recommend:

...if you like your spin with massive vitriolic blowback in the comments section.
If you're looking for cheap, online cognitive therapy, there's no better place than Life and Times of Big Calabaza.
Chicago Carless

The new ultimate real estate porn: Block Shopper.
goestotwelve.blogspot.com/ for sharp political and music coverage
I like Hungry Mag. hungrymag.com.
Jill- great call on Block Shopper. It's a pretty incredible site. I had never seen it. http://chicago.blockshopper.com/
the ultimate in chicago and nonsense-related hodgepodge:
This Chicago girl's cooking blog is great:
http://roundbeans.blogspot.com
Good photos and recipe ideas, and isn't she funny?
I have to echo the Wall Street Journal - Audiversity is consistantly stellar.
I'm flattered to see myself here. I've always enjoy reading consumatron: http://www.consumatron.com/
I used to be into http://Avantchicago.com when it was about music and such, not so much anymore. I love the photos on http://Everyone is famous.com
I like this blog about random stuff (sports, drinking, Chicago, books, seemingly obscure references understood only by the author and select close friends):
Ever since last weekend when my gardening blog got a mention in the nature section I've become a big fan.

Other than Gapers Block, obviously.
Yes, we asked this once before, but it's been awhile and we want to hear about more.
