Other than Gapers Block, obviously.

Yes, we asked this once before, but it's been awhile and we want to hear about more.

rebecca / March 12, 2007 12:40 PM

a great new cooking blog

Shylo / March 12, 2007 1:44 PM

Well, House In Progress for good DIY ideas. And I'm kind of having a little renaissance with my own blog.

brian / March 12, 2007 1:55 PM

I never miss nadablog. It's still funny after all these years.

avantchicago / March 12, 2007 2:23 PM

I love avantchicago - but am i highly self-centered - beyond that Can You See The Sunset.

jen / March 12, 2007 2:43 PM

oh boy... the self-promotion floodgates have opened.

rebecca / March 12, 2007 2:53 PM

just to clarify, blue kitchen is not my blog! i linked it to my name bcs i didn't know the link in the text would show up.

mike / March 12, 2007 3:21 PM

A liberal dose of liberal bloggery.

Dan R / March 12, 2007 3:24 PM

My friend's blog, To Whom it may concern

Graham / March 12, 2007 3:39 PM

I absolutely refuse to self-promote. I find it wholy unethical. (wink)

I've always found Derek Erdman's blog/site to be an endless source of amusement. Dude kills me.

Spook / March 12, 2007 3:43 PM

because she keeps "disappointing "the race" one blog entry at a time"

The Tell.Tale.Heart Studio
-A step-by-step account of the art-related projects-

Spook / March 12, 2007 3:47 PM

p.s I don't self promote either, between the trouble I start here and my blog

I'm afraid of blog sabotage,
death threats, violent stalkers, etc

brian / March 12, 2007 4:19 PM

One thing I've noticed is despite the trend for many of the newspapers to start blogs, they still all either suck or simply don't get it. For example, the Sun-Times blogs barely add anything you couldn't get from the paper. And the Trib's blogs are pretty hidden and hard to find.

The Cub Reporter:

amyc / March 13, 2007 8:45 AM

Ever since the Trib's Letters to the Editor page started allowing comments, I have become totally obsessed with it. I check it about nine times a day. Some of the people in this town have some frightening ideas.

Bill V / March 13, 2007 9:31 AM

Time is pretty short at work so I tend to click on the group blogs like Metroblogging and Chicagoist. Don't click on my blog, it totally sucks, just ask anyone!

Chris R / March 13, 2007 9:40 AM

I am interviewing for a position at FeedBurner. Considering that you all seem to know quite a bit about blogs can I ask that you give me a few comments on FeedBurner and their services? I am new to the blogging world and appreciate any thoughts.

freepy shwirtel / March 13, 2007 10:10 AM is an amazing place. Explore the ruins, deplore the reasons, climb to the top of the scrapheap and still hold out a little tearfelt hope for the motor City and then be thankful you live in Chicago.

charlie / March 13, 2007 10:31 AM

Chicago based photog Roark Johnson's........

Enigmatic and beautiful stuff

the beachwood reporter and the So-Called Austin Mayor blog.

Graham / March 13, 2007 2:09 PM

As far as young, hip art coverage in town goes, I've been digging Art or Idiocy? for some time now. It's simple and casual and dude sometimes posts sporadically, but it's the only one of its sort for the local art scene. He should maybe consider turning it into something more in the way of a group effort.

Andy / March 13, 2007 2:26 PM

Independent Music:
It's kind of a big deal.

Kevin / March 13, 2007 2:38 PM

Dear Brian.

I love you. :) Thank you for still reading after all thse years.

Has anyone checked our Leigh Hanlon's latest blog, ?

I really like his stuff a lot. Apologies if it's been mentioned already.

Emerson Dameron / March 13, 2007 2:40 PM

It isn't updated much now, but:
...has a backlog of weird MP3s that merits perusal.

Emerson Dameron / March 13, 2007 2:46 PM

I also recommend:

This Chicago girl's cooking blog is great:

Good photos and recipe ideas, and isn't she funny?

Dan M. / March 15, 2007 11:39 AM

I have to echo the Wall Street Journal - Audiversity is consistantly stellar.

I like this blog about random stuff (sports, drinking, Chicago, books, seemingly obscure references understood only by the author and select close friends):

MrBrownThumb / March 15, 2007 4:52 PM

Ever since last weekend when my gardening blog got a mention in the nature section I've become a big fan.
