Andrew / December 23, 2004 1:59 PM

Just because you didn't ask for anything doesn't mean you didn't want anything. :)

I wanted a new pair of gloves, and I got some nice, warm ones. And I'm getting a kitchen, although that'll take another week or two to arrive.

jennifer / December 23, 2004 2:23 PM

i'm getting a ticket to see slint at the metro and a ticket to new york, where the digital camera i'm going to be getting as well will come in handy.

Lisa / December 23, 2004 2:37 PM

I'm getting an iPod!!

Krissy / December 23, 2004 4:39 PM

I didn't know how much i wanted a Rabbit (TM) until I got it.

Onid / December 23, 2004 5:01 PM

In the past two years I managed to save money and pay off my credit cards and I bought myself a condo for X-mas (sort of...my closing is actually on January 11th). Yes, this is selfish to say this I think but I am pretty damn proud of myself.

I told my family that I got what I wanted but I suspect a bunch of housewarming gifts coming my way.

Maureen / December 24, 2004 12:14 PM

In the past two years I managed to save money and pay off my credit cards and I bought myself a condo for X-mas [....]Yes, this is selfish to say this I think but I am pretty damn proud of myself.

Not at all selfish! Good for you!

I wanted a new President for Christmas, but I suppose I'll have to settle for a cashmere sweater.

holden / December 24, 2004 2:24 PM

Ah, krissy, the Rabbit!!! that's very exciting. i'm getting it for my girlfriend for her upcoming birthday. was that a gift to yourself? if so, where did you obtain it at?

Maggie / December 24, 2004 3:19 PM

Sappy as it is, I wanted my family to be all together and with my grandmother. Yay! We're all headed to her house in about an hour.

chris / December 24, 2004 5:09 PM

I wanted a new Canon Digital Rebel, and I got it! Woo hoo! Of course I was my own Santa this year....

Carly / December 24, 2004 9:26 PM

I got everything I wanted on my list and more.

But the dishes my mom picked out will have to go. They look a bit too "Aztec" for my liking.

All in all, it was a great Christmas. And we even opened all of our gifts tonight! That would have been a dream come true fifteen years ago...

Heather S. / December 24, 2004 11:22 PM

I bought myself Sirius radio for Christmas. It is well worth the money spent just to hear uncensored radio.

Safi / December 25, 2004 12:49 PM

Well, for Eid I wanted a fiance-yes please laugh Im expecting you too and well I got one about 5 days after. Now if I could get a wedding date set.....

christian / December 25, 2004 9:41 PM

andrew, face it, you will never get a kitchen. no matter how much you talk aboout it, it still looks the same.

Eamon / December 25, 2004 11:04 PM

I got strep throat. Yay me.

s / December 25, 2004 11:09 PM

every year, my mom says, "s, I don't have any presents for you." in a doleful voice, as if she was somehow unable to shop despite the fact that my three other siblings receive presents. she does usually end up buying me my winter boots or coat or something the following week. otherwise, my brother tends to make up the disparity by getting me one big tech gift but i didn't even get that this year since last year i got an imac and a few years before that it was an ipod

So my entire set of presents includes three ugly tops, a dictionary, a beaded xmas tree, a pair of gloves, a hat (ugly), 1 pair socks, 1 pair long underwear, 1 ugly bathrobe to replace the ugly and almost identical one she gave me ten years ago, 1 scarf, 1 ugly key chain, 1 journal, and nothing in my stocking.

big picture: i've got more than enough stuff and i have nothing to complain about. emotional picture: mom is clueless.

Gordon / December 26, 2004 8:31 PM

I wanted a million dollars. I got 0.0004% of that in cash and gift certificates. Good enough.

Mike / December 27, 2004 8:48 AM

I wanted peace on earth and good will towards men, but I haven't looked at a newspaper in days. Did I get it?
Let's just see here, I'll just open the paper (and somehow type at the same time) and read the first couple of headlines...Oh...um, well maybe it's in the mail.

pj chmiel / December 27, 2004 8:59 AM

I got something I've wanted since meeting Jay Kordich four years ago, a Juiceman juicer. It's great and I'm looking forward to lots of healthy juice. "A lot of people underestimate parsley."

robin.. / December 27, 2004 12:56 PM

i asked for and recieved a pressure cooker, and did not anticipate but got a very fine mixed tape from a cousin. w00t. the best part, though, is giving the best stuff: three handmade aprons with the family motto (one in german--my needlepoint skills are unstopable!), "settlers of catan" for my brother, muffin pans for mom and a handmade hat for dad.

marbles / December 27, 2004 1:03 PM

engaged to the girl of my dreams and an mp3 player; rock-solid!

eliina / December 27, 2004 4:51 PM

robin---you have a family motto? what is it?

dragonflypurity / December 27, 2004 6:57 PM

I wanted an ipod & I got me a mini ! whoo hoo.

steven / December 28, 2004 8:16 AM

i wanted to see my wife's eyes light up as she unwrapped her gifts....so, yes, i got what i wanted for christmas.

on a purely materialistic level, i got my ipod stereo connection kit. woohoo!

Onid: congratulations on your gift to yourself. hopefully i'll be saying the same thing soon.

robin.. / December 28, 2004 8:42 AM

eliina: "root, hog, or die." i believe it's a variation on a german phrase--"eat like a pig or perish"--but with a family of noted tale tellers and truth stretchers, i just like to think that we're very serious about making it to the table in a prompt manner.
