drinking outside.
I can't wait to replant my herb garden. I didn't have room to sustain it inside this year, and I miss having fresh ones available all the time. Bring on the pleasant weather!
My long-distance professor boyfriend will be spending the summer with me SOON.
I suppose this is weather-related, but I'm looking forward to running outside again. I'm a fair weather runner, but I also don't like treadmills. Every year I have to build up to 5K strength again, so I like doing that as quickly as possible.
I also like the mental shift--we can take the plastic off our drafty windows and enjoy looking out of them again. It's a not-so-penned-in feeling.
Gardens, music festivals, and the possibility of eating ice cream again!
Wearing skirts!
I second Baldeesh on the wearing of skirts.
I'm also looking forward to: going outside on my lunch break to read in the sun. And the farmer's markets!
Moving out of my apartment-turned-nightmare...
...and walking to work more often (I got lazy with the ice).
the cubs being eliminated from contention shortly after the start of the season.
climbing into the potholes to escape the nasty bright sun.
Beer gardens; long, sunny days; cooking out; open windows; not feeling the need to escape someplace warm; farmers market; feeling energized to tackle my storage area and get that in good order; tackling my closet and getting rid of more clothes; wearing flats with no socks. I guess it's all kind of weather related, but I'm so excited for it, I can't think of anything non-weather related.
Concerts! Seems like there are a ton of great ones coming up. Also, outdoor events.
Cubs games.
The beach.
All the hotties coming out of hibernation.
More options for free or cheap entertainment.
The family's annual Canada fishing trip.
Farmers' Market.
Opening my windows.
The smell of barbecue.
Walking everywhere.
Sunshine sans shivers.
Not having to wear tights, being able to wear sandals, running outside, quarterly/seasonal dinner with a group of friends, planting tomatoes, drinking a beer while grilling a good burger and being able to eat it outside.
Sleeping with my windows open!
Eating and drinking outside.
Not clenching all of my muscles at the shock of the cold as soon as I step outside.
No more runny noses from the temperature swing from the outside vs. my super hot office.
Outdoor growing season for my plants.
Riding bikes.
Wearing cute shoes that won't get destroyed by snow/ice.
Bicycling (most of all), grilling outside, short-sleeve shirts, eating outside, reggae music and country music, beer gardens, warm breezes throughout the house, and seeing all of you ladies in your skirts.
Baseball!
I'm also looking forward to being able to go from outside to inside without my glasses getting all fogged up.
Going to Friday night Sox games and having a cold beer in the bleachers. My happy place.
Drinking in a bar in the middle of a sunny Saturday afternoon with the baseball game on tv and a few cute girls walking by or coming in every few minutes wearing shorts. Good times...
That feeling of Love that spring provides. I always feel a little more romantic and lovey when the weather turns and I prefer to walk hand in hand in stead of mitten to glove... and to show of some skin
1)getting home
while the sun is high,
grabbing a beer, The New Yorker, and my dog so she can play in the vacant lot across the the street while I sit on the ground and relax.
I'm sure dog incondo owners can really apperciate what spring/summer means.
2)the cubs being eliminated from contention shortly after the start of the season.
3)cubs fans being eliminated shortly after the start of the season.
With the warm weather comes... Laughing at the students who gave me hell all year, as it dawns on them that they will be stuck inside at summer school while everyone else gets to play. I don't laugh in their faces, mind you. I'm not that evil. But I laugh on the inside.
Flip Flops!
Farmers market!
Windows open.
The Cubs winning about as many games that they've averaged the past two years (91), which is very much in contention.
Also sunshine.
Birds chirping. Squirrels scrabbling all over the back porch. Getting flowers at Urhausen. Foster Beach. Dusting off the grill.
sleeping with the windows open, going out for long walks, beer gardens, wearing skirts, not worrying as much about where homeless people sleep.
Birds coming back and singing in my tree. Tulips!
All the pretty ladies in their floral print sun dresses.
Baseball! The countdown has begun to April 6, Opening Day.
Also, beer gardens, and being able to leave the windows open without freezing to death.
Green - green grass, green trees and thunderstorms.
Green - green grass, green trees and thunderstorms.
Baseball season, warmer biking weather and my 40th birthday, HOLY SH*T!
Also, me and my cute lil' buddy plan on bouncing this kittycat superball (a superball with a photo of a kitty inside that I bought at Hollywood Mirror) in celebration of spring.
Oh, and outdoor ping-pong!
Women should wear skirts no matter the weather!
I'm looking forward to the farmer's markets, gin on the stoop and outdoor delight.
paletas!
