I'd like to go to Italy and France next summer. If we can just get this damned refinance finished on our condo, we might just have the money...

Naz / July 25, 2003 2:04 PM

Current places for me to go and more interestingly, live in: Switzerland (went to boarding school there, nice place) Norway, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland and Sweden. Oh, back to London too. US stylings would include: New Orleans, Boston, New York, Portland, Seattle again and SF again.

Italy and France = amazing, been to both places numerous times.

lacey / July 25, 2003 2:18 PM

Australia, of course! But I would love to stop in Hawaii along the way...

amyc / July 25, 2003 2:49 PM

I've always wanted to go to Ireland. But I'd settle for a week in Seattle right now.

Andrew / July 25, 2003 2:59 PM

I've been to France -- was an exchange student in 6th grade, stayed with a family in a Paris suburb for three weeks -- but I'd like to go back. And Italy tugs on my heartstrings.

When I was a kid I wanted to go to college in Australia. No good reason, just thought it'd be cool. I'd still like to visit. Someday...

What a well timed Fuel question.

As it happens, I've been giving serious consideration to an around the world journey for the past several months, and just this week started some concerted planning and itinerary development.

Those interested may inspect my initial route at Greasy Skillet.

shechemist / July 25, 2003 3:20 PM

seattle, hands down. burningman. oh and london. actually, I am going to london in a few weeks. neaner neaner!

in winter I want to go to seattle, new orleans, or new zealand. anyplace not bitterly cold.

Luke / July 25, 2003 3:31 PM

Today? What, did Bill Gates buy Gapers Block?

Nevermind.

I would like to go to Madison on a bike.

I would like to to go 26.2 miles in 3:10.

I would like to go every inch of the Chicago lakefront in a day.

I would like to go down the Mississippi in a canoe.

I would like to go to Campagnola in Evanston.

I would like to go back to Greece and Italy.

Dave, I don't know whether you can still go around-the-world on a single ticket, but Mighty Girl points out that one can get mighty far in Asia for only $699.

Kevin / July 25, 2003 4:26 PM

Minnesota.

I'm Feeling Minnesota.

Really.

stephen / July 25, 2003 4:40 PM

Dave, if you're going around the world you really should add a stop in Thailand. It's completely amazing. That's where I'm going again, somewheres in southeast Asia, or New Zealand. Ultimately I like the Peace Corps route: just throw me in somewhere where I can do some good.

Leigh Hanlon / July 25, 2003 6:59 PM

I'd like to go on a two-week cross-country road trip just after Labor Day, during that time when the rest of the world is loading up on school supplies and living narrowly defined lives. The highways are less crowded and there's never a wait at roadside attractions. Maybe I'd start in New England and work my way west, or maybe the other way around. Maybe I'd even pick up a hitchhiker who turns out to be an escaped convict and forces me into taking part in some minor mayhem.

Charles Manson / July 25, 2003 7:02 PM

Outside.

Wizard of Odds / July 25, 2003 7:13 PM

I haven't been that many places. Most of Europe. Most of the United States. But from what I know, and what I've seen, there's only Rome. Bella Roma. The single most wonderful place outside of home I've ever enjoyed in my life. Been there twice and I'd drop everything and go back at the drop of a hat.

As far as I'm concerned, and until further investigation, there is Chicago, and there is Rome. There is no third.

onid / July 25, 2003 9:59 PM

I want to be in Greece. My cousin is getting married tomorrow and I wanted to be there but I couldn't manage the time off. Since I can't make it at the approximate time of the wedding tomorrow I will be calling various friends and relatives cell phones to do a long distance mingle while drinking a bottle of wine. It will be like I am there!!! Or not.

Marc / July 26, 2003 9:49 AM

I'd like to go camping in the Indiana Dunes - so I'm going, right now. Pics on Monday.

ruthie / July 26, 2003 4:25 PM

I want to go blueberry picking in Indiana.

Kegz / July 27, 2003 10:16 PM

I would like to go to all 7 games of a Cubs/Red Sox world series. Since that's unlikely, I'm going to Scotland for 2 weeks instead.

A lex, x, x / July 28, 2003 8:18 AM

I'd like to go to Provence right now and hang out with my pal Paul -- that lucky bastard.

Eric / July 28, 2003 10:36 AM

I've always wanted to see Australia but I'm not sure I can take the heat so I'll probably have to go in the winter, their winter, I mean, which is our summer, but I like our summers, not our winters, so I'd like to go during our winter, on account of it not being our summer, but that's their summer and it's hot then so maybe I should just wait till the next ice age.

I would also like to visit Vietnam. My Dad was drafted during the war and was stationed at a base in Germany so I'd like to go and tell him what he missed.

Before any of that, however, I would like to go to the store down the street without my car loudly advertising the fact that I can't afford to fix my muffler.

Oh, Europe too. Europe seems like a hoot.

Cinnamon / July 28, 2003 10:43 AM

Since Turkey is where fabric dyes originated, I would like to go on a spare-no-expense shopping tour for fabric and yarn. And, I'd like to go everywhere else, too. But, first I'll go to Italy and France, and maybe Boston.

I'd also like to see the area of California that my mom grew up in.

paul / July 28, 2003 11:46 AM

I need, not want, to go back to both Ireland and New Zealand. Not that's there's anything wrong with Chicago.
