Saturday, January 18
I plan on riding my bike to the lake occasionally, driving to local golf courses frequently, and taking public transportation to local rawk venues regularly.
I will probably drive to the southern portion of our state to experience a bit of nature, and travel intensely in that area.
I may go to Indiana three or four times.
I am trying to squeeze in an trip to Nevada, that that seems unlikely, although I am hopeful.
Bwaa Ha-ha!
YAJ,
What are you doing here?!?!?
So far: Austin, NYC, Columbus (at least twice), eastern Ohio (family reunion), and hopefully New Orleans. It's going to be a busy year.
To Hell and (hopefully) back. I've apparently already packed my bags.
New Orleans in late spring/early summer to visit one of my sisters stationed there. Bonus - I fly for free courtesy of the United States Navy.
Chattanooga in October sometime to visit some friends who live there.
And I'm planning a two-week trip to England/Wales/Scotland in January 2009.
Kona, Hawaii for spring break (March 16-23). Thank you United Air miles!
hmm possibly go to a friend's graduation in ottawa.
birthright trip to israel in june.
spring semester 09 in london.
Just got back from Vancouver (friends got married in Whistler).
I thought I'd take some time to go to France in the fall, but two more weddings (one in Long Island, another in Oakland) might take up the rest of my vacation time. I might try to go somewhere for my birthday (end of March).
This summer I'm doing a week-long hike in either the Rocky Mountains National Park or the John Muir trail in California with 2 of my younger brothers. Then, I'm planning on spending the month of December in Thailand, Cambodia, & Vietnam with my girlfriend.
One week bumming around Holland and Belgium at the end of March. God I can't wait.
New Mexico to see the In-Laws in late April. Joy. The U.P. in the fall if we can swing it post baby birth. I am hoping to get a weekend away at the American Club in Koler (sp?) from the eldest child in the fall too. Then a Christmas Trip back to the friggin' In-laws, with a 2.5 year old and a 6 month old.

Key West, FL in May for a wedding...I hope to try snorkeling at least once, if I can pry myself away from the poolside tiki bar at the hotel for a few hours...
Hopefully, camping at least a few times in various parts of Illinois this summer. None of my friends are really into camping, so I'm trying to get my girlfriend and her daughter excited about it (she's working towards her teaching degree, so I've been selling her on the "educational" opportunities it will afford)...
London, Prague, Costa Rica...
A man can dream. I'll probably hit Phoenix though at some point. Gotta focus on paying down the debt, not creating more of it. Unless I can get those AA miles to work for me, like Leelah mentioned above.
I've got a free Southwest ticket burning a hole in my pocket...
-Have to see the parents in Atlanta, hopefully before it gets too Hotlanta
-Very possibly a one-way trip to San Francisco courtesy of Google
-Hopefully a yoga retreat somewhere soothing and scenic
-Amelia Island, FL for a long weekend in May
-Effingham, IL for a long weekend in August
-New Glarus, WI for a week+ in September
And somewhere in between probably a long weekend in Milwaukee and one in St. Louis
- The U.P. in early May for my sister's graduation.
- Salt Lake City in late May.
- Toronto in June for a Cubs game.
- Boston, New York, Lancaster PA, and Baltimore in August (5 days, 4 cities, 3 ball parks!)
- And maybe a trip to Iowa City and Des Moines somewhere in there.
a week back home in NC in May for 2 weddings, luckily spaced just one week apart. small talk of taking a road trip to the closest spot in canada. possibly a road trip to louisville KY to spend the night in a "haunted" abandoned insane asylum and probably die. If i survive that, maybe a trip to Quebec. a trip to the philippines last year put me in quite a financial hole, so international travel will probably be a ways off. canada doesn't count.
Gonna try for some Spring skiing, a bunch of camping, maybe the wine country in the fall.
Starved Rock, camping anywhere in Midwest, and adding to the 30+ states I've seen so far...
So far 2 trips to the Dells planned- one for this weekend (renting a house) and one for the annual White Trash Trip.
Sadly, that's it so far. So much for my 1 trip to favorite island/1 trip somewhere new that I had planned (in my head) a few years ago.
Mikey-- for sure pry yourself away from the bar for a bit! Snorkeling is so fun/neat/great!
trip to hometown in northwest iowa for my sister's wedding (this weekend)
moving to chi to live with the boyfriend for the summer (which means I'll have to return to madison every once and a while)
prince edward island for friends' wedding (late june)
northern cali (not the bay area) for friend's wedding (late july)
and then another trip to iowa for the winter holiday
and all that pales in comparison to my summer 2007 in rwanda. though that might actually happen again this summer...we'll see.
i spent a week in ireland last november, so any more international travel isn't going to happen till i save up a little. at the end of march, i'm going with one of my brothers to visit our uncle and his family in arkansas.
i plan on traveling back in time, to when this winter was born, and then i'm gonna kill it!
if i see my past self, i'll give myself a high-five and then the world will explode! isn't that what's supposed to happen?
going to see radiohead in london for my birthday.
if my plane crashes on the way back, i want everyone to know my life was not a waste BECAUSE I SAW RADIOHEAD IN LONDON!!! i'm traveling solo. craziness.
VEGAS BABY.
Never been to India but I'm planning to spend an entire day browsing the markets on Devon Avenue this summer. Never been to Ireland but I'm going pub hopping in Beverly this year. Never been to Mexico but I'm going to check out the National Museum of Mexican Art in Pilsen soon. Never been to the Serengeti but I'm making a trip to Brookfield Zoo this summer. Might even make it to Milwaukee for Summerfest.
......already there...
waiting for a few more flyer miles so I can get home.
No, really would like to get out of the city..... as far as I can afford to go.
re "Merge" on
"Pier Comedy Fest"
...isn't Jim Belushi a comedian and doesn't he have Chicago ties ????
just sayin'...............
I'm going to Key West, Cozumel, and Belize for my honeymoon in early May. I absolutely cannot wait. BELIZE! Mayan ruins! Jungle! Awesome!
Otherwise, there will be the inevitable trips to see family in central Michigan. I'd love to take my future husband to Palm Springs, as he's never been to California, but I don't think we can afford it. Same goes for another trip to Rhode Island to visit my sis in the summer.
The new wife and I leave for Paris- the one in France- two weeks from today. Seven nights in the city of lights- I'm really looking forward to it, and trying to resurrect my high school French, but it might have made sense to make the trip at a time when the Euro didn't cost $1.5122.
My grandma grew up in a sod house in South Dakota. She'll be 90 this year, and the extended fam is taking her back to see the prairie in May. Plus the usual tourist stuff, which I've never seen: Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and of course, Wall Drug.
Next week: Back to France to visit friends. Spending most of my time in Rennes, just like old times!
After that: my brother's graduation from Columbia University (mid-May in NYC).
And then...grad school begins, so no vacations for the next five years (unless to professional conferences!)
Was in Jamaica last month, NY in April, RAGBARI in July and planning a trip to India in October. Not a bad year
Mostly going to stay close to the area this year. As soon as it gets a bit warmer it's biking time, planning on doing various trails in the area, Sugar River, Elroy/Sparta, Badger, I&M canal.
I'm also hoping to do some chillin up in Door county, eating my own weight in cherries, etc.
NYC, New England, and Michigan
chicago, iowa city, omaha probably multiple times each.
planning on riding RAGBRAI for the first time ever, and i'm very excited for that.
and there is a 50/50 chance of a camping trip to Yellowstone.
and a 50/50 trip outside the US.
i'm going to LOVE having my summers off as a teacher!
I'm going to Germany to visit two friends in three weeks! And I am probably going on a road trip to California... or maybe flying... and hopefully to Urbana for grad school (although that is not really a trip) and Springfield to visit ;)
Today I found out that I'll be living in Honolulu for 2 years, so it looks like I'll be travelling quite a bit this year.
I'm spending the summer in Paris with my girlfriend.
Nashville tomorrow
New Orleans in two weeks
Colorado in April
Las Vegas and Mexico in June
Then Ecuador for the summer.
I'z off to Belize on Wednesday for a 7-day yoga retreat. Is it Tuesday night yet?
Many travels:
Moving to La this summer and making some trips back and forth in order to find a place.
New Orleans Graduation in May.
Southern California organic farm living this fall, fingers crossed.
India for a month and a wedding.
Two weddings, a few months apart, in SC
A family reuinion in NC.
I am definitely going broke this year, for sure.
Hoping to make a delayed business trip to Kenya (two weeks) in late March, and tack on two weeks of leisure travel in Africa as well.
A Burning Man trip would be nice but delayed getting tickets and prep in general, so probably will pass for the year.

We're planning a road trip to southern Illinois. I want to be a tourist in all these cities I work in. Then we'll spend a few days at a resort in southern Indiana.
