We're having a few friends over to our place instead of going out. Maybe not as romantic, but probably more fun.

Carrie / February 5, 2009 9:50 AM

Going to Farmerie 58 with the boyfriend. We both forgot that it was coming up, so our usual spot was booked. I wanted to try this place anyway, so everything worked out.

Maybe...probably drinks with friends after.

Kristin / February 5, 2009 10:14 AM

It's my birthday, so I'll be Home with my family, eating chocolate cake!

Sara / February 5, 2009 10:19 AM

When my boyfriend and I were poor college students, it was kind of a jokey tradition that we'd have Chik-Fil-A for Valentine's Day. This year, with money being tight and all, I think we're going to reprise the theme with a White Castle dinner. Fancy restaurants are certainly nice, but the romantic part is just being together, and it will be more fun if we're not feeling stressed thinking about how we'll afford it.

annie / February 5, 2009 10:37 AM

We are splurging. During the day we are going to the hotel intercontinental to use the 1 day pass at their pool ($15, expensive but you can use the showers, etc when done.)And after that to Hotel Penninsula for afternoon tea. Can't wait.

Bridget / February 5, 2009 11:07 AM

My fella and I will both be working all night. Maybe we'll do drinks at a 5AM bar, or breakfast that morning.

Alison / February 5, 2009 11:43 AM

I'm having a party!

emt / February 5, 2009 12:39 PM

NO LEAVE ME ALONE GO AWAY

eee / February 5, 2009 1:33 PM

I'll be attending a party with friends that afternoon. In the evening I'll be going to Chicago Shakes to see "MacBeth," as my husband bought me tickets for Valentine's Day. Nothing like "Out, damned spot!" to make you feel all lovey-dovey.

Baldeesh / February 5, 2009 2:02 PM

I think it'd be a good excuse to crack open that bottle of absinthe I got last week. And watch some movies. Preferably ones with zombies in them.

Val / February 5, 2009 5:12 PM

I love Val Day.

I will go to Martini Park with the girls and buy table service for ourselves.

I love Val Day regardless of relationship status. Because it's all about me!

charlie / February 5, 2009 5:28 PM

Anteprima.

kelly / February 5, 2009 6:49 PM

Trader Vic's! Cheaper than a weekend trip to the tropics that I long for, but almost as fulfilling.

Spook / February 5, 2009 7:00 PM

Man, I spent all day trying not to write this but its a 95 percent chance that I'm gonna go out and then sleep with an Ex( that I least like out of all my Ex's) because I hate going out to drink solo on Val day. Wow I feel better, guess thats
called catharsis

Mr M and I will just treat it as any other day. I'm not big on valentines.

madachode / February 5, 2009 8:20 PM

I will enjoy this normal hetero holiday by spending time with my wife.

Steven / February 5, 2009 8:51 PM

Do the same that I did last year and the year before that. Ignore it. THE DAY AFTER, however, is a great day to go pick up some marked-down chocolate. Yes I loves me February 15.

Brian / February 6, 2009 1:11 AM

Bah humbug.

Irisheyes1212 / February 6, 2009 9:39 AM

Going with my sweetie for dinner at Las Tablas. Gonna get us some Columbian steak!
Then probably head to double door or martyr's for whatever music may be going on :)

David / February 6, 2009 1:06 PM

Gonna get a huge bunny costume and a big bouquet of tulips, and serenade my girl all night long with Magnetic Fields songs.

d. / February 6, 2009 1:26 PM

For the first time in many years (I'm too young to say that) I actually have a Valentine sweetheart. Cookin' a fancy dinner (w/my famous lemon-raspberry creme brulee for dessert) and...we're watching BOXING. I am the luckiest dude ever. She's more excited than I am!

mary / February 6, 2009 3:32 PM

ill be going to the burbs to take my mom out to dinner and a movie. first, because i crave to see the production of the shopaholic movie and i know my mom won't make fun of me, and second because i'm trying to prevent her from getting accidentally engaged.... for the 3rd time.

Graumach / February 7, 2009 1:25 PM

Haven't completely narrowed it down, just yet.

Pro'ly skip the crowded restaurant scene & do a romantic dinner for two at the crib instead. Then maybe go out and get some Crescent City bump on w/ the Rebirth Brass Band later in the evening. Me & the woman are heading howeward to the Gulf Coast a few days afterward -- getting away from this winter for a week & doing Mardi Gras. So we figure that'd be a good precursor.

zoenotcool / February 7, 2009 5:45 PM

We just returned from a short trip, so that was Part 1. Part 2 will probably be dinner at a low-key local place and lots of chocolate.

Leelah / February 7, 2009 6:59 PM

Going to San Francisco to hang with the cutest little man in the world... my 4 month old nephew.

jennifer / February 7, 2009 8:53 PM

while I will be seeing my ld boyfriend that weekend, my guess is that our saturday plans will be like all saturday plans, particularly because he asked me this morning, 'is there a holiday next weekend?' yes babe, there is. apparently not one that we will be celebrating, however.

crystal clear / February 8, 2009 5:04 PM

Will be working and seeing other couples enjoy themselves.
