KK Shirts Trunk Show

Katy Keefe, creator of The Lot Streetmarket in Wicker Park is having a trunk show Saturday at a local boutique in Logan Square, Wolfbait and B-Girls, 3131 W. Logan Blvd. She is supposed to show off KK Shirts new spring line from 1-5 p.m. and there will be free wine and music of some sort.

MC Chris @ Beat Kitchen

MC Chris, promoting his recent album Dungeon Master of Ceremonies, hits Chicago tonight for the greatest rap show ever. Or at least for tonight. He's at the Beat Kitchen tonight at 10:00 PM with Piebald and Street to Nowhere. It's an 18+ show, tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door, and can be purchased at Ticketweb. Lil Ed & the Blues Imperials @ Buddy Guy's Legends

Alligator recording artists Lil Ed & the Blues Imperials make their last appearance in Chicago in support of their latest album Rattleshake with an appearance at Buddy Guy's Legends. They go on around 11 and ticket prices are TBA as of this writing.

Rain Barrel Workshop @ Chicago Center for Green Technology

If you have a garden, you can use a rain barrel (or several). The rain you save in barrels eases the load on the city's stormwater system and it's great for watering your plants. In this two-hour workshop--part of the Chicago Center for Green Technology's Green Tech U--you make a rain barrel and learn how to properly install and maintain it. $25 materials fee and advance registration required. 1 PM, 445 N. Tigercity, Walter Meego @ Darkroom

Fresh from their Thursday night show at Schubas, Tigercity will play the Darkroom along with Chicago's own Walter Meego. Behind the music: the first 200 people get in free ($5 otherwise), from 9-11 there will be free Coke Zero and Bacardi cocktails, and swag bags with Saucony gift certificates will be distributed. Throw in Mother Hubbard and Matt DuFour spinning between sets, and you've got yourself an evening.

Guns'n'Bombs / Digitalism @ Smart Bar

The Los Angeles-based dirty electro duo Gun'n'Bombs blow up the dancefloor as they headline at Smart Bar this evening. They'll be joined by similarly beat-savvy Berlin outfit Digitalism, who'll be making a Chicago appearance in their short stateside tour. Biobooster and LA Radio will also be spinning. Artist Dialogue @ Experimental Station w/ Floyd Atkins and Dan S. Wang

The Experimental Station will host the South Side Community Art Center (SSCAC) to present a live dialogue with artists Floyd Atkins and Dan S. Wang. Please join us as Atkins and Wang discuss various topics centered on Atkins' current exhibition at the SSCAC entitled Reexamining America's Misconception. The event is co-sponsored by the SSCAC, Experimental Station and produced by Monk Parakeet, an independent cultural action group. The event will take place from noon-2pm at the Experimental Station, 6100 South Blackstone Ave.

Lillstreet Open House

Lillstreet Art Center is hosting an open house from 1-4 pm, with free workshops in every department, tours of open studios, food, drink, and the opening of the Animals and Insects group exhibition from 4-7 pm. Lillstreet (not actually on Lill Street anymore) is at 4401 N. Ravenswood, 773-769-4226.

FamilyFarmed.org Expo

The FamilyFarmed Expo takes place today at the Chicago Cultural Center. The schedule boasts about a dozen workshops, on topics like healthy eating and sustainable farming, a Farmer's Market, chef's presentatoins and general schmoozing with a bunch of local farmers and CSA operators.

Tickets to the Expo are two for $25 for both days, or $15 for one day.
