Drawing Restraint 9 @ Film Center

The Gene Siskel Film Center presents Matthew Barney's most recent film Drawing Restraint 9. Barney co-stars with his baby momma Björk as a couple that boards a Japanese whaling ship, along with 45,000 pounds of liquefied Vaseline. No, really. Tonight's screening is at 6:30 PM; the film will also be screened other times during the month of April. See the Film Center Website for a complete schedule of all films in the series. Souls of Mischief @ The Abbey

Coming up on 15 years since their classic major-label debut album and Oakland's Souls of Mischief are still at it, keeping the tongue-twisting verbal skills of late-Golden Era West Coast hip-hop alive and kickin'. They'll be pulling into town and dropping verses at the Abbey Pub this evening. Along for the occasion is companion and collaborator DJ Lex. Also slated to perform are ICON the Mic King, Earatik Statik, and Verbal Kent. 3420 W. Grace at Elston. 18 and over show. Doors open at 8pm, show kicks off at 9.
