California Night Tasting @ Sam's Wine & Spirits (Chicago)

Here's a chance to try a huge selection of wines from the Pacific Northwest for a reasonable price. Yes, its a $50 ticket (in advance), but this tasting usually features well over 200 wines and dozens of winemakers and owners of estates on hand to pour and share information. Despite the size of the event, this is no crapfest of mass produced $8 bottlings either. Plenty of reserve and limited production wines to keep even the biggest cork dorks happy. Tasting is from 5-8pm and taking public transit is a really good idea. The event draws a huge crowd, so be mentally prepared for rubbing elbows and everything else with 500 of your closest new friends.
