The Chicago Park District presents Theater on the Lake, a summer-long revival of great theatrical productions from the last year or so. This week's production: Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma! by the American Theater Company. The show plays at the Theater on the Lake theater (Fullerton Avenue at Lake Michigan) Wednesday through Sunday at 7:30 PM (6:30 PM Sunday nights). The Gene Siskel Film Center presents a month-long festival of the films of David Lynch. Come out to the Hyde Park Art Center (5020 S. Cornell Avenue) tonight from 6-8pm and hear from DePaul's Stephen Haymes and other local oral historians gathering to discuss their work, the state of their form of research and how others can get involved in this kind of work. Haymes and written extensively on the relationship between memory and African American social movements. We cannot know where we are going if we don't know where we're from! This free event is part of a larger series of events about education and the city taking place for 2 months.
